You’ll own GTM strategy, pipeline creation (direct + channel), founder-led enterprise sales, and brand/marketing—then scale into team leadership post-funding.What You’ll OwnGTM & Packaging: Define ICPs (mid-market & regulated), service catalog (Good/Better/Best), pricing, and SLAs/MSAs/SOWs.Pipeline Creation: Build multi-channel demand—assessments, webinars, content/email, events, community, and alliances (MSP/VAR/ISV).Sales Execution: Run RFPs, discovery, proposals, and pilots/POCs; close multi-year MRR contracts; stand up CRM, metrics, and forecasting.Marketing & Narrative: Differentiate vs. DIY tool stacks and pure-play MDR/XDR; develop case studies, IR win stories, and compliance-driven messaging (NIST CSF, CIS Controls, ISO 27001, SOC 2).Partnerships: Establish vendor/distributor alliances (e.g., Microsoft Security, CrowdStrike/SentinelOne, Palo Alto/Fortinet), MDF, and co-sell plays.Team Leadership: Build and lead an initial 5–10 person GTM team (SDR/AE + demand gen) post-funding; drive tight feedback loops with SOC & delivery.Must-Have QualificationsFounder/co-founder/VP of sales experience with at least one exit (acquisition or meaningful secondary).Proven success taking an MSSP/MDR/IR or security services business from zero to initial scale (e.g., $1M–$5M run-rate min).Full-stack GTM: demand gen, enterprise services sales, positioning/messaging; comfortable running founder-led sales.Excellent executive communication with CISO/CIO/CFO buyers and partners.Authorized to work in the Canada; thrives in a high-ownership, remote environment.KPIs You’ll DriveNew MRR, qualified pipeline, win rate, logo retention/churn, attach rate (IR/vuln mgmt), SLA attainment, gross margin.CompensationBefore Funding (Equity-Only)Founder Equity: Meaningful grant with 4-yr vest / 1-yr cliff; early exercise + 83(b) supported (elect to be taxed now at low FMV).Milestone Top-Ups: Additional equity for clear GTM wins (e.g., new MRR target, qualified pipeline, signed multi-year logos).Per-Deal Upside (Pre-Funding): For each qualified multi-year MRR win, choose either a small equity kicker (scaled by ACV/term/GM) or a deferred commission paid from collected revenue.Cash-On Triggers (Either one starts salary/benefits)First signed multi-year MSSP deal (billing started), orQualified funding event (or sustained, board-approved MRR for 3 months).After Trigger (Salary + Benefits + Standard Commissions)Base Salary: Competitive VP Sales & Marketing base (set at trigger; reviewed annually).Variable (MSSP-style): Commission on new MRR, with accelerators above quota and gross-margin gates to protect service economics; renewal/uplift component included.Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, PTO, and equipment stipend.ImmigrationGreen Card sponsorship available (if required) for exceptional candidates; company covers standard legal/filing fees (other employment-based options case-by-case).Protections & ClarityPro-rata rights to maintain ownership in future rounds; double-trigger acceleration on change of control.Offer letter includes cap-table summary, milestone schedule, and commission plan for full transparency.LocationRemote anywhere in the Canada; occasional travel for customers (International if required) , partners, and key events.How to Apply -Apply here on Linkedin orEmail : director@nextzensecurity.comwith subject “Canada - VP Sales & Marketing (MSSP) – [Your Name]” EEONextZen Security is an equal opportunity employer.
