ScopeThe VP of Quality plays a strategic leadership role in shaping and coordinating quality assurance across the R&D organization and driving quality across the entire organization. This role ensures that quality standards, processes, and practices are consistently applied and continuously improved across teams and products. Acting as a key interface between R&D and other departments, especially Customer Support, the VP of Quality fosters cross-functional alignment and drives initiatives that enhance product reliability, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.Job DescriptionStrategic Quality LeadershipDefine and evolve the R&D-wide quality strategy in alignment with company goals and technology roadmapRepresent the Quality function in the R&D Steerco, contributing to strategic decisions and cross-departmental initiativesAct as a quality ambassador across EVS, promoting best practices and continuous improvementOperational Oversight & CoordinationCoordinate quality activities across R&D teams, ensuring consistent application of testing life cycle (TLC) practices, defect management, and release readinessProvide matrix leadership to QC Engineers, guiding their development and aligning their efforts with strategic prioritiesMonitor and report on quality KPIs, test coverage, and defect trends; recommend corrective actions and process improvementsCross-Functional CollaborationLiaise with Customer Support to ensure feedback loops are in place for defect resolution and customer workflow validationCollaborate with Product Owners, Solution Managers, and Development Teams to embed quality early in the development lifecycleInterface with external stakeholders (partners, suppliers, customers) to ensure quality expectations are met and interoperability is maintainedProcess & Methodology DevelopmentLead the definition and optimization of quality standards, procedures, and tools across R&D and the wider organizationDrive adoption of automation frameworks, continuous integration/delivery (CI/CD), and risk-based testing strategiesEnsure alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements where applicableLeadership & CoachingMentor senior QC Engineers and Lead QC Engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and technical excellencePromote knowledge sharing and technical visibility through internal feedback (e.g., Viva Engage, Arena presentations, R&D Conferences), and represent EVS through external thought leadership to promote a quality image.Support the CTO and R&D SteerCo members in strategic planning, budgeting, and talent development for the Quality functionProfileProven experience in leading quality assurance in a complex, multi-product R&D environmentDeep understanding of software testing methodologies, automation, and performance analysisStrong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence across departmentsExperience in Agile environments and familiarity with Scrum, Kanban, and CI/CD practicesStrategic mindset with hands-on ability to drive operational improvementsAligned with EVS values: Innovation, Passion, Excellence, Agility, Accountability, Teamwork, Customer Success.LanguagesFluent in EnglishAny other language is an assetOfferBecoming Part of the EVS Team not only means that you will receive a competitive salary in line with your skills and the market, but also a range of other additional wellness and healthcare benefits.
