Job Description

Position Summary: The Water and Sanitation Manager oversees the freshwater production, treatment, storage, and distribution. In addition, irrigation, wastewater treatment plant, water attractions and pools, and plumbing equipment functions as per the Company’s public health policies and procedures. This role is responsible for leading the planned maintenance and repairs of the reverse osmosis, sewage plants, water attractions, pool installations, and its related equipment ensuring functionality that meets all required quality standards, resulting in maximum operating time and guest satisfaction. The Water and Sanitation Manager in in charge for treating the water daily, ensuring optimal water chemistry parameters.

This position is responsible for optimizing and maintaining the chemical consumption, critical spare parts, and budget related to the area of responsibility. This role must have excellent communication skills, be able to prioritize, and be detailed orientated while establishing and driving a positive working environment All duties and responsibilities are performed following Company’s Brand Standards, the Royal Way philosophy, policies, and SOPs, public health, safety, security, and environmental guidelines. All Team Members may be required to perform any other job-related duties assigned by their Supervisor or Management. The nature of this job requires daily interactions with internal and external stakeholders. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Oversees the operation of the freshwater production and wastewater treatment plants (chemical treatment, disinfection, storage, distribution together with irrigation) and conducts preventative maintenance and repairs. Manages water quality and maintenance of waterpark pool equipment installation and maintenance.

Oversees, delegates, and performs regular inspections, maintenance, preventative maintenance, overhauls, and repair work on the RO and STP equipment and facilities, including lift stations, sanitary equipment, and plumbing fixtures, ensuring complete compliance with the manufacturer's specifications and company standards. Oversees, delegates, and performs regular inspections, maintenance, preventative maintenance, overhauls, and repair work on the Lift station. Applies expertise in ensuring compliance with destination water safety plan. Performs regular checks of pools and performs chemical adjustments to ensure a safe environment that complies with USPH standards, Company policies, and SOPs.

Inspect the team’s work assignments to ensure that work is completed promptly and professionally. Manages riding crew teams and new water production and treatment installation projects. Educates team members to ensure complete compliance with the manufacturer's specifications. Performs daily safety checks of the area of responsibility and schedules any repairs as required. Performs safety checks of the Overwater Cabana slides and schedules any repairs as required. Completes and maintains certification in Pool & Spa Operator (CPO) course and Pool & Spa Inspector (NSPF). Monitors work order volume and prioritizes assignments for the team as necessary.

Responds to all maintenance-related calls in a timely and appropriate manner. Inform the Management team about equipment failures that may result in attraction downtime or closures. Maintains all appropriate public health, equipment data and monitoring documentation and reports as required. Communicates with the Environmental Officer and the Managering Manager regarding any hazards that arise and ensures the safe completion of repairs. Coordinates renovation and construction of water production, waste treatment plants, pools, and water slides maintains plants, technical specifications, and other maintenance or construction of the facilities. Provide feedback, recognition, performance evaluations, and disciplinary action to the team members.

Share ideas with the Management to improve the overall operation, safety, compliance, and cost savings. Conducts clear and concise briefings for the team. Uses clear, concise, and professional communication when dealing with team members and leaders in person, over the radio, and in written format. Demonstrates effective teamwork, coaches, and develops others. Displays advanced time management skills and coaches others. Trains and mentors the new hires. Creates daily tasks, and coordinates the repair and maintenance work of the facilities and equipment. Assign tasks to the team members and plan to accommodate requests from the departments as requested.

Demonstrates and leads a safety-first culture in all tasks. Conducts and trains the team on safety checks on mechanical and electrical systems. Writes reports and completes maintenance logs on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Ensures logbooks are properly and accurately completed by team members. Applies problem resolution skills promptly to scheduling, team member concerns, water production, waste treatment, and pool and Water Slide park issues. Communicate with management if any issue arises that will impact the business. Adheres to all company policies regarding Water Safety and Chemical Management, handling, and storing.

Encourage and maintain a positive attitude in a dynamic and diverse changing work environment Assists the Technical team with maintenance projects as requested. Participates in trainings and meetings. Adheres to a company confidentiality agreement. Follows the destination's grooming standards and ensures the team follows the standards. Acknowledges and greets guests, visitors, and team members in public spaces with a warm, friendly greeting. Manages work schedules to meet the needs of the operation and efficiently managing any additional workload requirements. Develops, implements, and monitors rotation sheets for the operation. Keeps record of hours worked and approves overtime.

Maintains the continuous updating of clear and concise handover notes to eliminate any possible miscommunication that compromises the efficiency of set processes. Financial ResponsibilitiesAssists with the department budget proposals. Supports monthly budget achievement. Controls the inventory and assists with the purchasing of tools, equipment, spare parts, and chemicals. Qualifications: Diploma or higher technical training in Water Safety and Sanitation is mandatory. Bachelor of Science in Management field or equivalent four (4) year university degree preferred.

Minimum five (5) years of experience in a waterpark or pools environment with a minimum of three (3) years of supervisory responsibilities of maintaining the water-related facilities and equipment in good working condition. Expertise in the maintenance of water production distribution and waste treatment, pumping, water chemistry, filtration, and monitoring equipment. Must hold a valid license /certificate(s) in technical specialty areas and Pool & Park Operator (CPO) Certification. Proven ability to work on time-sensitive projects. Ability to interpret architectural plans. Working knowledge of computers, the Internet, and the ability to navigate within MS Office and maintenance systems required.

Ability to work positively and cooperatively in a diverse international team environment. Good interpersonal and communication skills to be able to work with different-level team members. Ability to maintain focus, work with strict deadlines, multitask, and be flexible and adaptable. Language Requirements: Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly, and cordially with stakeholders. Ability to read and write English, to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests, managers, and team members. Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste and smell. The team member must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. All destination team members must be physically able to participate in emergency life-saving procedures and drills.

Full use/range of motion of arms and legs as well as full visual, verbal, and hearing abilities are required to receive and give instructions in the event of an emergency. Work Environment: Destination outdoor environment where high temperature, precipitation, and humid temperatures are experienced. While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is required to work outdoors in extremely humid and hot conditions for an extended period of time. This is a position where duties are exercised outdoors, walking in sand, and uneven surfaces, and high scaffolding.
