Start Date: January 2026Rate: $19.00 per hourLocation: Hartranft Community CenterSchedule: Monday – Friday, 3:30 PM – 6:30 PMPosition Type: Grant-funded, two-year termAre you passionate about helping children grow academically, socially, and emotionally? Wonderspring is seeking an energetic Youth Development Specialist to join our aftercare program beginning January 2026! You’ll lead fun, hands-on activities that promote academic success, teamwork, creativity, and leadership for students in grades K–5, while also assisting with programs for middle and high school youth (grades 6–8 and 9–12).Working under the direction of the Site Director and in collaboration with the STEAM Educator, you’ll help create an engaging, supportive environment where every child can explore new ideas, build confidence, and develop lifelong skills.Join us where FUN is at the heart of everything we do and let your talents shine brighter every day!What You’ll Get to Do (and Have Fun Doing!)Lead daily aftercare programming that promotes academic achievement, teamwork, creativity, and social-emotional growth for school-age childrenFacilitate the daily “Power Hour” homework help block by providing small-group and one-on-one academic support in a structured, encouraging environmentCollaborate with the STEAM Educator to deliver engaging, hands-on enrichment activities that reinforce learning through science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematicsSupport rotating Interest Clubs that align with seasonal themes and student interestsEncourage student goal setting, reflection, and growth throughout the program yearMaintain active supervision and ensure a safe, inclusive environment that reflects Wonderspring’s mission to inspire growth and learning in every childYour Special Skills & QualitiesHigh School Diploma or GED required, Associate’s degree in Education, Child Development, or a related field preferredAt least two years of experience working with school-age youth in an educational, recreational, or youth development settingStrong understanding of youth development principles and positive behavior guidanceExcellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skillsCreativity, patience, and enthusiasm for helping children learn through play and explorationMust meet all DHS requirements, including current clearances (PA State Police, Child Abuse, FBI, NSOR) and a Health Assessment with TB testWe are an equal employment opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of sex, age, race, color, religion, national origin, mental or physical disability, sexual orientation, political affiliations, marital or veteran status.
