Visit our website for more information: www.greenafricayouth.org.Position DescriptionThe Zero Waste Manager will support the Zero Waste Director in coordinating the planning, implementation, and monitoring of GAYO’s Zero Waste initiatives under the Circular Economy portfolio Thematic Area. The role focuses on ensuring effective project delivery, strengthening partnerships, and providing technical and operational support to country and community-level teams working to advance circular economy and zero waste solutions.Position Roles and ResponsibilitiesProgram Coordination and ImplementationSupport the Director in planning and decision making for all Zero Waste activities across project sites.Develop and implement a program tracker for all teams to ensure efficiencyManage day-to-day implementation of waste management initiatives, ensuring alignment with project objectives.Supervise field teams and ensure timely delivery of project outputs and reports.Support the setup and operation of Material Recovery Facilities (MRFs), composting sites, and waste segregation systems.Technical Support and Capacity BuildingProvide technical guidance on waste segregation, recycling, and data tracking.Lead capacity-building sessions for waste pickers, SMEs, and community members.Contribute to the development of training materials, manuals, and awareness resources.Stakeholder Engagement and PartnershipsLiaise with local authorities, community leaders, and partner organizations to ensure smooth collaboration.Represent the Zero Waste Portfolio at stakeholder meetings and community forums.Support public awareness campaigns and media engagements on zero waste and circular economy.Monitoring, Reporting, and EvaluationCollect and analyze project data for monthly reporting and performance assessment.Support the documentation of case studies, lessons learned, and success stories.Contribute to progress reports, donor updates, and internal reviews.Team Support and CoordinationProvide supervision and guidance to Zero Waste staff, including coordinators, officers, and interns.Work closely with the Communications and Finance teams to ensure project visibility and compliance.Perform other duties assigned by the Zero Waste Director and the Programs Department.QualificationsStrong intellectual and operational capacity in providing advisory services to stakeholders;Strong understanding of zero waste principles, recycling systems, and community-based waste models.Excellent communication skills, with analytic capacity and ability to synthesize information;Excellent skills in policy advocacy, strategic planning, public speaking, and team leadership.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret waste data and develop evidence-basedsolutions.Familiar with Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel);Experience in coordinating groups of different skill sets/ interests/ cultural backgrounds;Detail-oriented and have the ability to understand new concepts quicklyTerms and ConditionsContract Duration: 2 yearsWorking hours: 40 hours per week (Full-time)Working language: English (French is an asset)Monthly gross salary between GH¢ 10,000 and GH¢ 15,000, depending on experience and qualifications.How to applyPrepare your application package, which should consist of a one-page cover letter stating your interest in the role and highlighting your relevant achievements, as well as a recent CV—all these merged into one PDF.nsure that your application package is accessible and not more than 5 MB in size.Access the application form at: bit.ly/ZWManager_Application.
