Wisconsin's first major storm of 2025 left some far northern counties with more than two feet of snow for the week of Thanksgiving.

The storm began in earnest overnight on Nov. 25 and extended until the early morning hours of Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 27, in some areas.

Thanks to heavy lake-effect snow, the northernmost counties bordering Lake Superior — Bayfield, Ashland, Iron and Douglas — were hit hardest. Iron County was the center of the storm, with some areas reporting upwards of 30 inches of snow accumulation.
