Jay Glazer: Baker Mayfield, Aaron Rodgers Expected to Play on Sunday

It's only Thursday, but FOX Sports NFL insider Jay Glazer has a good idea of which quarterbacks are on track to play and which ones are trending toward sitting out on Sunday and Monday. Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield (shoulder) and Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback (wrist) Aaron Rodgers are both expected to play in their respective games on Sunday, Glazer reported. Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels (elbow), meanwhile, will miss Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos, but there's "optimism" he could return for next week's game against the Minnesota Vikings, Glazer added. As for New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart, Thursday will be a big day in determining whether he'll be able to suit up against the New England Patriots on Monday night. "Jaxson Dart is practicing for the Giants today, but after practice, they have to give him a neurological test," Glazer said on "FOX NFL Sunday." "If he passes that, he'll be in line to start on Monday." Dart was placed in concussion protocol in the Giants' Week 10 loss to the Chicago Bears, leaving that game in the fourth quarter after taking multiple hard hits. Brian Daboll was fired as Giants' head coach the day after that game, while interim head coach Mike Kafka opted to start Jameis Winston over the last two weeks. Winston has played well, throwing for 567 yards and scoring four total touchdowns in the Giants' last two losses. Dart, though, has also shined. The 2025 first-round pick has thrown for 1,417 yards, 10 touchdowns and three interceptions to go with 317 rushing yards and seven rushing scores this season. As for Mayfield and Rodgers, the former departed the Buccaneers' Week 12 loss to the Los Angeles Rams early due to a shoulder injury. He practiced on Wednesday ahead of their matchup against the Arizona Cardinals. Rodgers, meanwhile, missed the Steelers' Week 12 loss to the Chicago Bears due to a wrist fracture he suffered in their Week 11 win over the Bengals. He sat out of Wednesday's practice ahead of Sunday's game against the Buffalo Bills. Daniels, on the other hand, suffered a pretty gruesome elbow injury in the Commanders' Week 9 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. However, it was expected that the injury wouldn't keep him out for the rest of the season. Washington sits at 3-8 ahead of Sunday's matchup against Denver, with every game essentially being a must-win for the rest of the season. Want great stories delivered right to your inbox?
