Mormon Wives' Chase McWhorter: What to Know After Taylor Frankie Paul Date

As if Taylor Frankie Paul’s on-again, off-again romance with Dakota Mortensen wasn’t messy enough, the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star teased a possible reconciliation with Chase McWhorter following their involvement in the soft-swinging scandal.

During the season 3 finale of the hit Hulu show, released on Thursday, November 13, Chase and Taylor met for lunch, during which he apologized for his behavior toward her and her friends. The duo reminisced on their past and even joked about sharing a kiss, which is a far cry from how Chase and Taylor behaved toward each other before.

Before the show premiered in September 2024, Taylor made headlines after her involvement in a “soft swinging” sex scandal while she was still married to Tate Paul. The controversy involved Taylor hooking up with various couples, including Miranda McWhorter and her then-husband, Chase.

“Her husband was the one [who] had feelings for me. That’s where the story gets confusing,” Taylor said during season 2 of Mormon Wives about how Chase caused a falling out between her and Miranda. “Because I ‘stole my best friend’s husband’ but that’s never been the case. If Miranda was my best friend, I never would have [done] that to her, ever.”

According to Taylor, the tension grew after she told Chase that she had a sex dream about him, adding, “I didn’t think a dream was a big deal considering we were making out with each other and touching each other on the weekends. We also had sex in the same bed, at the same time. We would blindfold each other, and you would have to guess which husband you were kissing, and a couple times we did that.”

Taylor and Tate, who share daughter Indy, 7, and son Ocean, 4, called it quits in the aftermath of the drama. She then found love with Dakota, who was Taylor’s first boyfriend following her divorce. They welcomed son Ever in 2024, but later called it quits following cheating rumors involving Dakota.

Chase, meanwhile, ended his marriage to Miranda and moved on as Taylor skyrocketed to fame for her involvement in MomTok and The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.

“I think we all have regrets,” he exclusively told Us Weekly in 2024. “I think we all regret what happened. … We probably should have not been there. But at the same time, why does this have to be a public thing? It seems like this was all happening behind closed doors, and now Taylor’s using it as a springboard to notoriety when she’s the one that actually just cheated.”

Chase and Miranda started dating in 2016 after he reached out to her on social media. They got married one year later and expanded their family with kids Brooks in 2019 and Cohen in 2021. The pair called it quits in 2024.
