Portland 24 Hour Fitness gym shooting update as one dead with manhunt for gunman

A horror shooting outside of a popular gym in Portland, Oregon in the US has seen one person confirmed dead, according to police. The shooting occurred at 24 Hour Fitness in the Hollywood District today (November 21) at around t 6:47am. Initially reports said multiple people had been shot, but local officials later confirmed that only two people were injured. The incident also took place outside 24 Hour Fitness and did not cause any incident to the incident of the premises. Now police have updated information on the condition of the two people injured in the shooting. Sadly, one of the victims died at the scene following the shooting. The second individual was taken to hospital with police now confirming their injuries are "non-life-threatening". The Portland Police statement said: "One man was deceased at the scene. The other was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries." A police spokesperson also told The Mirror U.S: "This is definitely not a mass shooting event or active shooter type situation at all." Portland Fire confirmed people are were being treated for injuries at the scene in their earlier statement. The fire service wrote on X: "Portland Fire is on scene of a shooting in the Hollywood District. Engine 28 and Engine 9 along with C4 on scene working by triaging and treating injuries on scene prior to transport of patient to the hospital."
