Tsavorite secures over $100 million in pre-orders for AI chips to scale workflows

AI startup Tsavorite Scalable Intelligence said on Monday it has secured more than $100 million in pre-orders from enterprises and cloud providers across the U.S., Asia and Europe to deploy its chips that are used to scale AI workloads. The company has seen strong demand for its Omni Processing Unit (OPU), a compute architecture which unifies central processing units, graphics processing units, memory and connectivity in one device, enabling it to be configured to meet diverse market and application needs. The growing complexity of artificial intelligence workloads is driving the industry to scalable solutions that address challenges such as power consumption, scalability and cost, facilitating broader adoption of the AI infrastructure. Tsavorite declined to disclose its current valuation or the total amount of funding it has raised so far. Founded by former Intel and chip industry veterans in 2023, the company expects to deliver its chips and enterprise class AI appliances capable of supporting all agentic AI workflows by next year. "We've built the first truly composable, developer-friendly, AI platform that delivers step-change gains in efficiency, cost and scale from edge to hyperscale," CEO Shalesh Thusoo said. The company is using Samsung's SF4X platform solution to fabricate the OPU.

OpenAI considers consumer health tools in push beyond core AI offerings, Business Insider reports

OpenAI is weighing building consumer health products, including a generative AI-powered personal health assistant, as the ChatGPT maker aims to move beyond its core offerings, Business Insider reported on Monday, citing sources close to the company. OpenAI did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment. Tech giants such as Google, Amazon and Microsoft have long tried to give consumers control over their medical data, often with limited success. Google shut its health record service in 2011 due to low traction, while Amazon wound down its Halo fitness tracker business in 2023. Microsoft's HealthVault platform also failed to attract widespread adoption. OpenAI's healthcare push follows strategic hires, including Nate Gross, cofounder of physician network Doximity, as head of healthcare strategy in June, and former Instagram executive Ashley Alexander as vice president of health products in August. At the HLTH conference in October, Gross said ChatGPT attracts about 800 million weekly active users, many seeking medical advice.

No time for tests, Germany have only World Cup qualification in sight-coach

(Corrects date to November 17 in second paragraph) WOLFSBURG, Germany :Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann is in no mood to test anything in their remaining World Cup qualifiers and only wants to secure two wins that will punch their ticket for next year's tournament. The Germans, who travel to Luxembourg on Friday before hosting Slovakia on November 17, will secure top spot in Group A and automatic qualification to next year's World Cup with two wins in their final two matches. "We want to have a good balance (in the squad)," Nagelsmann told a press conference on Monday. "We want to cover every position double. The most important thing is... to be successful at these games, get the six points and qualify for the World Cup. "We do not depend on other results, only rely on our team's performances. It is a good starting spot but we still have to make it successful." Nagelsmann raised some eyebrows by ignoring VfB Stuttgart midfielder Angelo Stiller, but said the door for the 24-year-old, who has five caps, was not closed for next year's tournament. "I talked to Angelo. His development is going in the right direction," Nagelsmann said. "But on the six position with Felix Nmecha and Aleksandar Pavlovic, I see them slightly ahead at the moment. Angelo needs to continue his rising form. In March there is a new squad nomination. The door is not closed." Germany are in top spot in their group on nine points, ahead of second-placed Slovakia on goal difference. Northern Ireland are third on six, with Luxembourg last without any points. The group winner earns automatic World Cup qualification while the second-placed team goes into a playoff in March 2026. The Germans - four-time world champions - are desperate for a deep tournament run and have set their sights on winning the trophy at the World Cup, co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico, after their disappointing first round exits in the last two editions. "We don't have the luxury of another slip-up," Nagelsmann said when asked about their surprise 2-0 loss to Slovakia in September. Germany have since won their next three qualifiers. "We have improved, as I said, the starting conditions... but still need to complete the task."

SIR 'votebandi' exercise, must be stopped immediately: Mamata

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday (November 10, 2025) dubbed the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls as “votebandi”, and urged the Election Commission of India to immediately stop the exercise. Ms. Banerjee also said she was unable to fathom the “hurry” to conduct the SIR just before elections. “The BJP-led central government is harassing people in the name of SIR. Just like demonetisation was ‘notebandi’, SIR is ‘votebandi’. It is another form of super emergency,” she told reporters in Siliguri. “I do not understand the hurry in conducting SIR just before elections. The ECI must immediately stop this exercise. The revision of electoral rolls cannot be completed in two or three months. It is being carried out forcibly,” the CM alleged. Ms. Banerjee asserted that the BJP can send her to jail or “even cut my throat” for speaking out against SIR, “but do not curb the voting rights of people”. The Chief Minister also criticised the Goods and Services Tax, calling it a “blunder” that should be rolled back. “The central government is looting people in the name of GST,” alleged Ms. Banerjee.

Man accused of murdering woman by stabbing her in neck in Birmingham appears in court - he is 21-year-old from Smethwick

A man accused of stabbing a woman in the neck in Birmingham has appeared in court charged with her murder after the victim died of her injuries. Djeison Rafael appeared at Birmingham Magistrates Court on Monday morning, accused of murdering Katie Fox, who was stabbed on Smallbrook Queensway shortly before 9pm on November 7. Wearing a grey T-shirt and flanked by two dock officers who removed his handcuffs as he faced District Judge John Bristow, Rafael was told to be quiet and look forward as he interrupted the six-minute hearing multiple times. The 21-year-old, of Rosedale Avenue in Smethwick, is also charged with two counts of causing actual bodily harm on October 27 and November 7, possession of a Stanley blade on November 7 and assaulting a detention escort officer on November 8. Rafael was told he was not going to be asked to enter any pleas because the offences are too serious to be dealt with by the magistrates’ court. District Judge Bristow told the defendant: “I’m going to send you and your charges to the crown court on November 12.” West Midlands Police want to hear from anyone who knows more about what happened or the movements of Rafael, who they described as a black British national. They believe he was wearing an all-grey tracksuit, black hat, trainers and rucksack on Friday evening. The force previously said the victim, aged 34, was taken to hospital with a serious neck injury but died of her injuries.

Wall Street makes gains despiter SoftBank sale of Nvidia

NEW YORK, New York - U.S. stocks were fragmented Tuesday with the Dow Jones rising hundreds of points, while the Nasdaq Composite floundered. Influencing the tech sector was an announcement by SoftBank that it had sold off its entire Nvidia holding for $5.83 billion. "These tech companies, they're cash flow machines," Bill Fitzpatrick, portfolio manager at Logan Capital Management, told CNBC Tuesday. "They're terrific companies, but the starting point does matter, and given where they're valued today, it doesn't take much – a little bit of negative news – for the sentiment to turn just a little bit and you get an unwind that is more favorable to value equities." U.S. markets presented a tale of two trajectories in Tuesday's final half-hour of trading, with the blue-chip Dow Jones Industrial Average staging a powerful rally while technology stocks lagged, dragging the Nasdaq Composite into negative territory. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (^DJI) was the day's standout performer, soaring 566.50 points, a gain of 1.20 percent, to settle at 47,935.13. with less than 30 minutes trading on the clock. The surge was driven by strong earnings and renewed investor confidence in industrial and financial sectors. In contrast, the NASDAQ Composite (^IXIC), heavily weighted toward technology stocks, bucked the positive trend. It declined 41.13 points, or 0.17 percent, to trade at 23,486.04. The dip suggests a rotation out of some growth-oriented names that have led the market for much of the year. The broader S&P 500 (^GSPC), which tracks 500 of the largest U.S. companies, managed a modest gain. It advanced 18.80 points, or 0.28 percent, to 6,851.23, reflecting the mixed sentiment between traditional industrials and the tech sector. "Today's action is all about sector rotation," Angela White, a senior market strategist at Sterling Capital. said Tuesday. "Investors are taking profits from the high-flying tech names that have seen massive runs and are moving into value-oriented blue-chips that are showing strong earnings momentum. It's a vote of confidence in the broader economy, even if it comes at the expense of the megacaps." The divergent performance sets the stage for a volatile week, with investors keenly awaiting key economic data, including the latest inflation figures, for further direction on the health of the economy and the path of interest rates. Late-Tuesday Trading Snapshot: Dow Jones Industrial Average: 47,935.13, +566.50 points (+1.20 percent) S&P 500 Index: 6,851.23, +18.80 points (+0.28 percent) NASDAQ Composite: 23,486.04, -41.13 points (-0.17 percent) U.S. Dollar Shows Mixed Performance as Swiss Franc Strengthens The U.S. dollar presented a fragmented picture in Tuesday's trading, firming against several major currencies but facing a sharp sell-off against the Swiss franc and a resilient Euro. The most significant move was seen in the USD/CHF pair, where the U.S. dollar tumbled 0.53 percent against the Swiss franc to trade at 0.8002. The drop highlights a flight to traditional safe-haven assets amid ongoing geopolitical tensions and market uncertainty. In contrast, the Euro (EUR/USD) was a notable gainer, climbing 0.27 percent to 1.1587. The common currency found support from hawkish commentary from European Central Bank officials, who signaled a reluctance to begin cutting interest rates in the near term. "The market is reassessing the interest rate divergence story. The Euro's strength and the Franc's surge suggest traders are betting that other central banks may not follow the Fed as quickly as previously thought," said Michael Tan, a senior forex analyst at Global Capital Partners. The British pound (GBP/USD) was relatively steady, edging down a marginal 0.03 percent to 1.3168. Commodity-linked currencies were mixed. The Australian dollar (AUD/USD) dipped 0.08 percent to 0.6530, while the New Zealand dollar (NZD/USD) managed a 0.22 percent gain to 0.5657. Against the Japanese yen, the USD/JPY pair was virtually unchanged, inching down a mere 0.01 percent to hold at 154.10. The US dollar also saw a slight pullback against its Canadian counterpart, with USD/CAD falling 0.08 percent to 1.4009. Market participants are now looking ahead to key U.S. inflation data due later in the week, which is expected to provide the next major catalyst for the greenback's trajectory. Key Foreign Exchange Rates Snapshot: EUR/USD: 1.1587, +0.27 percent USD/JPY: 154.10, -0.01 percent GBP/USD: 1.3168, -0.03 percent USD/CHF: 0.8002, -0.53 percent USD/CAD: 1.4009, -0.08 percent AUD/USD: 0.6530, -0.08 percent NZD/USD: 0.5657, +0.22 percent FTSE 100 Joins European Rally as Asian and Middle Eastern Markets Show Mixed Results Stock markets in the United Kingdom and continental Europe surged on Tuesday, while trading across Asia and the Middle East presented a fragmented picture, with notable gains in India contrasting with declines in several other markets. Canada's main benchmark, in the final hour of trading Tuesday mirrored the steady gains of the S&P 500. The S&P/TSX Composite Index (^GSPTSE) climbed 91.77 points, or 0.30 percent, to last trade at 30,408.40, supported by strength in its heavyweight financial and energy sectors. London's FTSE 100 was a strong performer, climbing 112.45 points or 1.15 percent to close at 9,899.60. The rally was mirrored across the English Channel, where France's CAC 40 jumped 100.72 points (1.25 percent) and Germany's DAX advanced 128.07 points (0.53 percent). The pan-European EURO STOXX 50 index rose 1.08 percent. "The synchronized gains in London and major continental bourses suggest a broad, risk-on sentiment is taking hold, likely driven by optimism around corporate earnings and stable interest rate expectations," said Claudia Rossi, a market strategist at Global Equities Partners. Asian Markets Lack Direction In Asia, performance was mixed. India's benchmark S&P BSE Sensex continued its record-breaking run, adding 335.97 points (0.40 percent) to close at a new high of 83,871.32. South Korea's KOSPI also posted solid gains, rising 0.81 percent. However, the momentum was not universal. Japan's Nikkei 225 dipped slightly, down 0.14 percent, while China's SSE Composite fell 0.39 percent. Markets in Taiwan, Indonesia, and Australia also ended the session in negative territory. Middle East and Africa: A Divergent Picture Trading in other regions showed clear divergence. In the Middle East, Israel's TA-125 edged up 0.31 percent, while Egypt's EGX 30 fell 0.41 percent. South Africa's Top 40 Index was a positive standout, gaining 0.41 percent. In Southeast Asia, Malaysia's FTSE KLCI rose 0.46 percent, but Singapore's STI Index was a much stronger performer, climbing 1.20 percent. The day's varied results highlight the different economic forces at play in regional economies, setting the stage for a week sensitive to local data and global commodity prices.
