Mumbai To Host Marquee T20 WC 2026 Game, Ahmedabad Handed Additional Honour Alongside Final: Report

The International Cricket Council and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have decided to follow the same allotment for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 as they did for the Men's 2023 Cricket World Cup for the marquee games, which will take place in five marquee centres in India. As per a report by the Indian Express, the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will not just host the final of the tournament but also the opening game. The tournament is set to take place from 7th February to 8th March, but a confirmation from the International Cricket Council (ICC) is imminent, with reports stating that the BCCI have submitted the draft schedule to the world cricket governing body. The same report has also stated that the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai will also host one semi-final of the tournament. Overall, five venues in India will host the competition, with Chennai, Delhi, and Kolkata also circled in, with all centres set to get at least six matches each. Bengaluru is set to miss out as the fallout from the stampede continues, but the city could host warm-up games, although it has not decided if the Chinnaswamy Stadium will be used or the BCCI's Centre of Excellence grounds will be used. If the ICC decides to go ahead with the plan, it will be similar to the allotment of the 2023 World Cup where also the opening match and final were hosted in Ahmedabad while one semi-final took place at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium, which was played by Team India. The second semi-final was played at Kolkata's Eden Gardens two years ago, but this time it could take place in Sri Lanka. However, unlike the 2023 World Cup, which was hosted in 10 centres, this tournament will only see use of five cities in India. The Sri Lanka Arrangment It is worth noting that India is not sole host of the tournament but is jointly hosting it with Sri Lanka. It has been reported that alongside five venues in India, three centres in the Island nation will host matches. While the Premadasa Stadium in Colombo and Pallekele are set to host games, the third venue will either be Dambulla or Hambantota. Also Read: India's World Record Broken In 44 Days! Temba Bavuma-Starrer South Africa Creates History VS Rishabh Pant-Led Side As per an arrangment made between BCCI, PCB, and ICC before the 2025 Champions Trophy, Pakistan will not travel to India. If the two teams meet each other other ground in the group stage, the match will take place in Colombo. If either of Pakistan or Sri Lanka makes the semi-finals, one knockout clash will take place in Colombo. If the Men in Green reach the final, the summit clash will also take place at the Premadasa Stadium. Campaign Ends for High-Stakes Bihar Polls, Setting Stage for Final Phase of Voting

Campaigning for the second and final phase of the high-stakes Bihar Assembly elections ended on Sunday evening, drawing the curtains on a nearly month-long political showdown marked by sharp exchanges, high-octane rallies, and an intense battle for voter trust. Voting for 122 seats will take place on November 11, while counting of votes will be held on November 14. The first phase of polling, conducted on November 6, saw a record turnout of 65 percent across 121 constituencies. Top Contests in Final Phase of Bihar Polls The second phase will decide the fate of several prominent leaders, including JD(U) ministers Sumit Kumar Singh from Chakai and Leshi Singh from Dhamdaha, BJP MLA and shooter-turned-politician Shreyasi Singh from Jamui, and BJP minister Neeraj Kumar Singh from Chhatapur. As the campaign drew to a close, senior leaders across party lines, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, crisscrossed Bihar in a final bid to sway voters. Rahul Gandhi Wraps Up Opposition Push Congress leader Rahul Gandhi addressed his last rallies in Kishanganj and Purnea districts, focusing on the Seemanchal region that holds a sizeable Muslim population. The area is crucial for the opposition INDIA bloc, which is banking on a consolidation of minority votes. Gandhi, who held 15 rallies during the campaign, had earlier led the Voter Adhikar Yatra, a two-week outreach programme that received notable local participation. While his “vote chori” (vote theft) allegations against the BJP were a recurring theme, the issue failed to dominate the election narrative. For the first time, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra campaigned in Bihar, marking her debut in the state’s electoral politics. She addressed 10 rallies and led a roadshow before one of her meetings was cancelled due to bad weather that grounded her helicopter. BJP’s Power-Packed Campaign Led by Modi and Shah The BJP ran one of its most aggressive campaigns in Bihar, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who addressed 14 rallies and held a roadshow. His speeches focused on development, governance, and welfare schemes, with repeated jibes at the opposition bloc. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, widely seen as the BJP’s chief strategist, stayed in the state for several days, personally managing the campaign in key districts. On the final day, he addressed rallies in Sasaram and Arwal - both constituencies where the BJP is considered relatively weak. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also campaigned in Aurangabad and Kaimur, regions bordering his home state Uttar Pradesh. BJP president JP Nadda, Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari and Shivraj Singh Chouhan, and chief ministers Yogi Adityanath, Himanta Biswa Sarma, and Mohan Yadav joined the campaign trail, adding to the party’s star power. Actor-politicians Ravi Kishan and Manoj Tiwari, both popular Bhojpuri figures, also campaigned across the state. The NDA campaign even saw participation from allies outside Bihar, such as Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Andhra Pradesh minister Nara Lokesh of the TDP, reflecting the national scale of the BJP’s outreach. Nitish Kumar Keeps It Low-Key, But Focused Away from the limelight of national leaders, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar led a quieter but determined campaign. The JD(U) supremo, aiming for a fifth consecutive term, continued holding small rallies and impromptu roadshows despite speculation over his health and political equations. After sharing the stage with Prime Minister Modi at a joint rally in Samastipur early in the campaign, Kumar skipped subsequent events featuring the PM - sparking opposition claims of tension within the NDA alliance. However, JD(U) leaders dismissed such talk, saying the chief minister was focusing on local-level outreach. Tejashwi Yadav Fires Up the Opposition Bloc On the other side, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav - declared the INDIA bloc’s chief ministerial candidate - campaigned vigorously across the state. His rallies drew large crowds, with promises of job creation and governance reform forming the crux of his appeal. Yadav’s campaign, marked by youthful energy and sharp criticism of the Nitish-led government, has boosted the opposition’s confidence going into the final round. Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj Party Adds a New Dimension Adding a new twist to the Bihar elections was political strategist-turned-activist Prashant Kishor, whose Jan Suraaj movement ran a grassroots, door-to-door campaign. Kishor, who once managed campaigns for top leaders including Modi and Nitish, presented himself as a reformist alternative, focusing on governance and citizen participation rather than mass rallies. '72 Of 121 Seats Will Be...' Congress Has A Bold Prediction On INDIA Bloc's Bihar Result

Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera projected that the INDIA bloc could secure 72 out of 121 seats it contested in the first phase of the Bihar assembly polls on November 6. Addressing a press conference in Patna on Sunday, he said that Congress could also have "entered the double-digit mark" in the first phase itself. Attacking the NDA, he alleged, without naming anyone, that efforts were being made to steal votes, and a "thief is roaming the state". Khera said that the ensuing elections will "not only set the trajectory of Bihar but also define the outline of political discourse in the country." "Bihar's people are ready to chase them out of power," he added. The Congress leader also claimed that ministers in the NDA government "have sensed their defeat" and are trying to "destroy traces of their corruption". "At least one deputy CM and several other ministers have already decided to vacate their official residences and are destroying files of corruption," Khera alleged. "Don't be shocked if you see a fire breaking out in any government office," he told reporters. 'Tejashwi Yadav will not decieve people': Khera On RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav's promise to provide one government job per household, if voted to power, Khera said, "One who can provide 5 lakh jobs in 17 months, can also fulfill this promise. He is a young leader and has a long road to travel. He will not deceive people." He was referring to Yadav's claim that he, as the then deputy CM, was instrumental in providing five lakh jobs during the 17-month Mahagathbandhan government, of which Nitish Kumar was then a part. "On one hand, we have a leader who uses words like 'katta' (country-made pistol) and 'kanpatti' (temple of head) in his rally speeches, and on the other, there are promises of a government job in each household, reduced cost of LPG cylinders, and 200 units of free electricity, among other things," the Congress leader added. The first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections concluded peacefully on Thursday with a record voter turnout of 64.66 per cent, the highest in the electoral history of the state. Assembly elections in Bihar are being held in two phases on November 6 and 11, while the counting of votes is set for November 14. Toronto’s Pickleball Tournament Raises Over $170,000 for Breast Cancer Awareness

Toronto’s vibrant pickleball community came together for a cause that transcended sport, raising over $170,000 for Rethink Breast Cancer at the second annual Pinkleball Tournament. Held at the Fairgrounds Public Racket Club in Leaside during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the event saw the city’s top players don every shade of pink to compete, connect, and contribute to the ongoing fight against breast cancer. A total of 44 teams, decked out in pink from head to toe, took to the courts for a day filled with friendly yet fiercely contested matches. The air buzzed with energy as players dinked, smashed, and volleyed their way through intense rallies, all united by a shared purpose beyond the scoreboard. The event, co-chaired by Amanda Alvaro and Alison Lawler-Dean, offered far more than pickleball. A thoughtfully designed wellness hub invited participants to unwind between matches with guided stretches and soothing massages, ensuring mind and body were equally cared for. Off the court, the Pinklebar, sponsored by Air Miles, kept spirits high with signature Pink Fizz cocktails, while Shake Shack served up their famously juicy burgers. For a healthier touch, Nutbar provided refreshing smoothies, striking the perfect balance between indulgence and nourishment. The overwhelming success of this year’s Pickleball Tournament highlights how sport and community can unite to create a lasting impact. With record-breaking donations and an atmosphere brimming with camaraderie, the event has swiftly become one of Toronto’s most uplifting and meaningful traditions — proving that every serve, smash, and sip can bring people together and make a tangible difference in the fight against breast cancer.

AIFF Reviews ISL Proposal After League Fails to Attract a Single Bid

After finding no takers for the Indian Super League (ISL), with no bidders willing to meet the federation's terms and conditions, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) on Sunday said that Bid Evaluation Committee Chairperson Justice (Retd.) Nageswara Rao will submit his report to the Supreme Court after not a single bid was received for the ISL’s commercial rights. The AIFF on Friday announced that it had not received any bid for the commercial rights of the already-delayed ISL, leaving the future of the country's domestic football in disarray. The other two members of the Bid Evaluation Committee (BEC) are AIFF President Kalyan Chaubey and Kesvaran Murugasu of the Asian Football Confederation as an independent member. "The Bid Evaluation Committee (BEC) of the All Indian Football Federation (AIFF) held a meeting on Sunday, November 9, 2025 to review and discuss the status of the 'Request for Proposal' for awarding the right to monetise the commercial rights belonging to the AIFF for a limited period," the AIFF statement said. "Following the deliberations of the committee, the chairperson of the BEC, Justice (Retd) Nageswara Rao, will submit his report to the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India as the next step in the process." The bid process is being supervised by the Supreme Court and Justice Rao was appointed on the orders of the apex court. The continued uncertainty over the much-delayed ISL has led to a few clubs, including Mohun Bagan Super Giant, to suspend all their football activities indefinitely. The reigning ISL champions Mohun Bagan have even stated that they will review contracts of players and support staff next month. The AIFF had floated the Request for Proposals on October 16 for a 15-year contract to monetise the league’s commercial rights. The submission deadline was November 7. With PTI inputs
