Come join our team.Job Summary:This position is responsible for processing all transactions related to the accounts payable function. The incumbent in this position will support the mission, vision, values and strategic initiatives of MWHC Health System and must demonstrate a commitment to quality service to patients, physicians, the public and co-workers.Essential Functions & Responsibilities:Reviews invoices for proper approval and purchasing authority;Monitors AP aging reports and Received, Not Invoiced report and reconciles to vendor statements regularlyReview invoices for proper sales and use tax treatment to ensure proper recordation and paymentsReview invoices for proper income classification to ensure proper inclusion for 1099 preparationProcesses properly approved invoices in a timely matter, utilizing cash discounts when availableMaintain vendor master files.Prepares the check payment cycleProcesses and transmits electronic files for positive pay to the bank.Responsible for sorting incoming mail, filing processed invoices and distribution of payments to vendorsCommunicates effectively with customers and vendors responding to inquiries or report requestsMaintains leases, agreements or other recurring paymentsMonitors all interface jobs to determine that all transactions have interfaced or posted into the subsequent systemProvides assistance in other areas of the department as appropriateOther duties as assignedQualifications: AP experience and/or Associates Degree preferredAccredited Payables Specialist (APS) designation preferredProficiency with Microsoft Office suite of applications, along with a strong orientation to using personal computers in a network settingStrong verbal and written communication skillsThe ability to multi-task and willingness to learn new skillsTeam oriented person who can focus on the detailsThe ability to deal effectively with tight month end closing processesThe ability to deal effectively within a rapidly changing organizationAbility to work independently and cooperatively / collaboratively as part of a team, developing productive working relationships with diverse groups of peopleAs an EOE/AA employer, the organization will not discriminate in its employment practices due to an applicant's race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, and veteran or disability status.
