Application Administrator - 12 Months

With a decade of experience in the region and a team that possesses extensive knowledge of the market, we provide a fully integrated HR solution.We are currently recruiting a Application Administrator for our client based in Dubai UAE for a Fixed term of 12 Months.Job Purpose:The Applications Administrator will be part of a skilled engineering team responsible for delivering mission‑critical application administration services. The role ensures high levels of application availability, performance, reliability, and security. The ideal candidate has a strong background in IT, application administration, systems engineering, or systems analysis.Job Responsibilities:1.Strategy & GovernanceProvide timely data and reports to the Applications Administration Manager.Recommend technical and operational improvements to support strategic planning and continuous enhancement of IT services.2.Operational ResponsibilitiesManage and administer application technical support, maintenance activities, and related SOPs to ensure effective controls and compliance.Provide rapid fixes for application incidents and ensure minimum downtime.Contribute to IT security policies, standards, and controls for application servers aligned with corporate security frameworks.Identify, assess, and support mitigation of security risks and audit findings related to application servers.Participate in project lifecycles, including Development, QC, UAT, and Production phases.Monitor application service delivery in line with approved policies, user requests, SLAs, and maintenance schedules.Apply application security patches, updates, and bug fixes upon vendor release.Deploy new application releases and packages.Ensure all supported application implementations are secure, reliable, cost‑effective, and fit for purpose.Maintain accurate application documentation and inventory across Production, QC, DEV, and UAT environments.Collaborate with vendors and third parties to ensure adherence to industry best practices.Handle special assignments from line management or senior IT leadership.Job Requirements:7+ years of IT infrastructure experience with focus on application technical support and security.Strong understanding of application support and security concepts.Working knowledge of AD, DNS, HTTP/S, SSH, LDAP, DHCP.Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, firewalls, networking protocols, and security principles.Experience with application design, deployment, backup, recovery, and lifecycle management.Expertise in capacity planning, performance tuning, high availability, and security hardening.Hands‑on experience with applications from Oracle, SAP, IBM, Microsoft, and similar platforms.Experience using automation tools for application management.Proven experience with implementations, upgrades, and managing applications in complex environments.Ability to perform effectively under high‑pressure, 24/7 on-call situations.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Education/Certifications:Minimum, Bachelor's in IT/ Computer science or related field.ITIL (preferred)Industry certifications related to application administrationProject management certifications such as PRINCE2, PMP (advantageous)
