Assistant Manager Internal Audit

Key Responsibilities· Lead and execute end-to-end internal audit assignments including planning, fieldwork, documentation, reporting, and follow-up.· Conduct process walkthroughs, risk assessments, and control evaluations in line with IIA Standards and Softlogic Life’s Internal Audit Methodology.· Prepare concise audit reports highlighting key observations, risks, and actionable recommendations.· Present audit findings to management and process owners in a clear and solution-oriented manner.· Support the Chief Audit & Compliance Officer in preparing summary reports for the Audit Committee.· Evaluate internal controls and risk management practices to identify gaps and recommend preventive measures.· Monitor and follow up on the implementation status of audit recommendations.· Provide advisory support on process enhancements, policies, and new system implementations.· Promote automation and analytics-based audit techniques to improve efficiency and coverage.· Stay updated on regulatory changes, emerging risks, and industry best practices relevant to the insurance sector.Qualifications and Experience· A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration added advantage· Partly qualified or past finalist in CA Sri Lanka / ACCA / CIA or equivalent professional qualification.· Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in internal audit, external audit, or risk management — preferably in the insurance or financial services industry.· Sound knowledge of internal controls, risk management frameworks, and regulatory requirements applicable to insurance operations.· Proficiency in MS Office and data analytics tools will be an added advantage.
