Whether you're a first-time buyer or an experienced collector, we pride ourselves on delivering a simple, safe, and satisfying experience.Role DescriptionAxolotl Arms is hiring a full-time Assistant Operations Manager to support day-to-day store operations, supervise staff, assist with firearm sales processes, and oversee online order fulfillment. This role requires strong leadership, reliability, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced retail and e-commerce environment. Weekend availability is required. This position includes opportunities for advancement as the business continues to grow.ResponsibilitiesSupport the Store Manager in daily operational oversight of the retail storefront and warehouse areaProvide high-quality in-store customer service and assist with escalated customer needsSupervise retail staff, ensure proper register coverage, and maintain smooth sales floor operationsOversee firearm sales processes, including Form 4473 review and background checks (training provided)Manage and coordinate online order fulfillment, shipping workflows, and inventory restockingEnsure accurate cash/card handling, drawer reconciliation, and POS performanceMaintain store cleanliness, merchandising standards, and product organizationAssist with onboarding, training, and performance guidance for new employeesMonitor inventory accuracy, stock levels, and back-of-house organizationHelp enforce all ATF, safety, compliance, and company policies at all timesSupport operational planning, scheduling, and daily task managementExperienceMust be 21+ and legally eligible to handle firearmsMust be able to pass a background checkMust be able to pass a drug testMinimum 2+ years of firearm retail, firearms industry, or related sales experienceStrong working knowledge of computers, POS systems, and general retail operationsAbility to follow detailed checklists, procedures, and compliance workflows with zero shortcuts or discrepanciesDemonstrated attention to detail, accuracy, and consistency in a fast-paced environmentProven ability to handle firearms safely, perform basic safety checks, and follow all store and industry-standard safety protocolsA positive, professional attitude with a strong willingness to learn and take constructive feedbackStrong customer service mindset with the ability to communicate clearly and respectfullyProven reliability—shows up on time, maintains schedule commitments, and supports team operationsDemonstrated business awareness: understands sales flow, inventory movement, and customer needsAble to multitask without losing accuracy—especially when handling firearms, forms, and POS tasksValues organization, cleanliness, and proper handling of inventory, equipment, and paperworkComfortable taking initiative and identifying small problems before they become larger issuesPay & BenefitsFull-time salaried position based on a 40-hour work weekStarting salary: $41,600 per yearGuaranteed 1-year pay reviewOutstanding performers may receive raises within the first 6 monthsPerformance-based annual bonus opportunitiesPaid Time Off (PTO), Sick Leave, and Unpaid Time OffEmployee discounts on merchandiseJob Type: Full-timePay: $41,600.00 per yearBenefits:Employee discountPaid time offWork Location: In person
