The RoleTo act as a member of the care team under the supervision of registered NMAHP Practitioner.To assist patients to achieve their care and rehabilitation goals.Provide support and evidence based care by assisting the planning, implementing, delivery and evaluation of careUndertake baseline assessments within clearly defined parameters for the identified area of care delivery.Use specialist technical and practical skills to deliver flexible, person centred safe and effective careDuties may vary depending on the team / department or assigned area of work. NHS Lanarkshire is comprised of Acute Services (which currently provide hospital based services over 3 main sites), Corporate & Property & Support Services, North and South Lanarkshire Health and Social Care Partnerships which provide integrated primary healthcare and social care services to local communities and surrounding areas.What we'll need you to bringFormal qualification at HNC Level or equivalent level of experience in a health / education / social care environment plus short specialist courses relevant to specific clinical area.Awareness of health legislation relevant to the clinical area.Knowledge of the clinical speciality/area process, techniques and / or activities relevant to client group.Ability to apply a range of technical and practical skills.Effective listening, communication and interpersonal skills.Time management, planning and organisational skills.Working knowledge of basic information technology.Ability to work individually or as part of a team.Ability to learn and develop new skills and maintain a record of learning.Full driving license holderPlease note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.It would be great if you also haveAdditional qualifications in education, training, or facilitationQuality improvement or audit trainingExtensive experience working within AHP services, including advanced clinical tasksExperience supporting and coaching new staff and colleaguesExperience designing and delivering training sessions and materialsExperience conducting staff assessments and providing feedbackExperience supporting work experienceExperience with feedback systems or data collection for service improvementExperience working across professions (e.g. AHP/ Nursing collaboration)Understanding of HCSW roles and development needs within AHPKnowledge of NHS ScotlandHCSW Toolkit and Induction StandardsAbility to design and deliver bespoke and generic training sessionsStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary teamIT proficiency, including Microsoft Office and presentation toolsFamiliarity with systems used in NHS Lanarkshire (e.g. MS office)Awareness of feedback and evaluation methods for educational programmesUnderstanding of work experience processes and pupil engagement in LanarkshirePerson-centred approach to care and educationCalm, sensitive, and patient demeanourAbility to manage competing demands and work under pressureCommitment to promoting positive change and innovationHigh level of discretion and professionalismConfidence in presenting to varied audiencesAbility to motivate and engage learners of mixed ability levelsInterest in sustainability and legacy planning for development initiativesContract typeFixed Term or Secondment for 9 monthsPart Time22.2 hoursPlease note this is a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.Please note this is a fixed term post for 9 months. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.
