A fast-food Restaurant is seeking an Assistant Vault Custodian for their locations in Montego Bay.JOB SUMMARYThe Assistant Vault Custodian plays a critical role in supporting the secure management of the vault's daily operations. This position ensures the integrity, accuracy, and safety of all items stored in the vault—including cash, cheques etc.—by strictly following organizational policies and procedures. The role involves both physical handling of assets and meticulous record-keeping.RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIESMonitor and control vault access to ensure that only authorized personnel are granted entry, maintaining strict compliance with security protocols.Open and close the vault according to defined procedures, ensuring proper logging and supervision during each activity.Maintain accurate records of all vault operations, including transaction logs, invoice reports, account records, and movement history of stored items.Conduct daily audit checks to confirm vault contents and report any discrepancies or anomalies to the Vault Custodian/Store Manager or appropriate authority.Safeguard cash, documents, and other valuables, ensuring they are stored and handled in compliance with company policy and security standards.Operate and maintain vault equipment such as cash counters, weighing scales, and security devices, ensuring functionality and cleanliness.Assist in asset transfers, including the secure movement of currency, documents, or other items in and out of the vault, maintaining a clear chain of custody.EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCEAssociate degree or equivalentPrevious experience in cash handling would be an asset.Strong attention to detail, high level of integrity, confidentiality and honesty.Previous experience in retail or restaurant operations preferred.Basic knowledge of accounting.Computer literacy.Ability to work under pressure and follow strict procedures without deviation.Familiarity with vault or secure storage operations is an advantage. Working Conditions:Fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment.Requires adherence to strict opening, closing, and cash handling schedules.Some lifting or carrying of cash trays or deposits may be required.May involve early morning or late-evening shifts depending on store hours.
