Job Description

Transport Counsellors International Ltd, (TCI), is seeking to expand and is looking to recruit an associate/claims handler with up to 3 years relevant experience in the shipping and insurance sectors. TCI was established in 1976 and deals with international trade, Hull, P&I and FDD matters, including but not limited to all types of casualties, casualty investigation, charterparty disputes, laytime and demurrage, cargo claims, bill of lading disputes. TCI handles London and international arbitrations and has vast experience in dealing with shipping related problems of all kinds, combining a commercial and legal approach to achieve speedy and effective solutions. Further information about TCI is available at www.tci.gr.RoleWe are looking for a junior claims associate based in Piraeus with an ambition to progress in their career in a fast developing company. Candidates already qualified or willing to put the time and effort into qualifying as an English solicitor would be given preference and provided with support and assistance. Qualifications: Degree in Law - Maritime law or other legal qualification Experience in maritime industry (preferred but not essential)Fluent and English with good written and verbal communication skills (proficiency in Greek preferred but not essential)Ability to analyse, negotiate and settle claims Enthusiastic, self-motivated and of sound judgement  Key Responsibilities: Assist with Client’s inquiries and provide sound legal adviceLegal researchWork as part of a growing team handling and negotiating claims and arbitration matters as necessary Assist senior claims consultants and/or undertake preparation of arbitration submissionsDevelop and manage relationships with Clients  Applications with recent CV to:  Poppy Verivakis  26, Skouze.
