Known for advising leading domestic and international financial institutions, sponsors, and corporates, our team handles a wide range of complex banking and finance transactions, including acquisition finance, project finance, real estate finance, and restructurings. Working closely with colleagues across our global network, we deliver innovative and commercially focused legal solutions on both Greek and cross-border matters. We are currently seeking a highly qualified and experienced Banking Lawyer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in banking and finance law, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, international environment. Fluency in both written and spoken English and Greek, as well as admission to the Greek Bar, are essential.Key ResponsibilitiesAdvise clients on a broad range of banking and finance transactions, including various areas of finance, syndicated lending, and debt restructuring. Draft, review, and negotiate complex finance documentation such as facility agreements, security documents, intercreditor agreements, and legal opinions. Collaborate with colleagues across Norton Rose Fulbright’s global offices to support cross-border transactions and provide cohesive, international legal advice. Conduct due diligence and risk assessments in relation to financing structures and borrower obligations. Support financial institutions, sponsors, corporates, and other stakeholders on regulatory and compliance aspects of banking transactions in Greece. Participate in business development initiatives and client relationship management to help grow the firm’s banking practice locally and internationally. Stay up to date with Greek and EU banking regulations and market trends to ensure practical, commercial advice. Mentor junior lawyers and contribute to the development of the Athens banking team. Key Skills And ExperienceGreek law qualified (although England & Wales qualified would be considered). Ideally 4+ years of experience in the banking and finance field. Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills. Fluent written and spoken Greek & English.
