Our work supports evidence-based, community-driven solutions that strengthen public health systems and advance equity across the communities we serve.Position OverviewThe Associate Public Health Consultant (Associate) provides planning, coordination, and project support to BME Strategies, a Massachusetts-based public health consulting firm. Associates work closely with project teams and clients to advance a wide range of initiatives, including program design and project management, grants management, emergency preparedness, coalition building, and performance improvement. They also support projects that provide technical assistance in areas such as public health communications, substance use and harm reduction, environmental health and inspectional services, vaccination campaigns and logistics, and strategic planning.This role would be well-suited to someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and eager to contribute to mission-driven public health projects. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who enjoys problem-solving, balancing multiple priorities, and supporting collaborative work in a remote, fast-paced environment.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport multiple client projects through planning, coordination, and administrative supportContribute to the design and implementation of public health programs, assessments, trainings, and evaluationsAssist with grants management, including preparing budgets, monitoring spending, developing work plans, and submitting reportsCoordinate meetings, trainings, and events, including scheduling, materials preparation, and follow-up documentationMaintain organized records, data, and tracking systems to support internal and client reportingContribute to the development of written deliverables such as summaries, reports, presentations, and communication materialsAssist in preparing grant proposals and other funding-related documentsSupport coalition and partnership activities by helping manage communication and logistics among stakeholdersCollaborate with team members to continuously improve processes and client servicePerform other duties as assigned in support of BME's mission and client commitmentsRequirements2-3 years of experience working in applied public health (local, state, or federal level), project coordination, or a related fieldMaster's degree in Public Health or a related field requiredExcellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skillsStrong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectivelyDemonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse colleagues, clients, and community partnersExperience with public health accreditation, quality improvement, or performance management initiatives is desirableProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and standard project management toolsA valid driver's license is requiredWorking ConditionsRemote work, with occasional travel to client sites, conferences, or meetings as requiredAbility to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced consulting environmentBenefitsExpected range is $70,000 - $81,000/annuallyComprehensive benefits package, including:6+ weeks total leave, including paid vacation, sick time, personal leave, and floating holidaysHealth, dental, and vision insuranceHealth FSA and dependent care FSA401(k) with employer matchEmployer-paid short-term and long-term disability insuranceOne-time technology stipendOpportunities for professional development and career growthBME Strategies expects a large volume of applicants for this position and only those candidates invited to move forward in the interview process will be contacted.
