This role will focus on maintaining accurate records across the sales and purchase ledgers, handling CIS-related tasks, and preparing applications for payment. The ideal candidate will have strong bookkeeping experience, excellent attention to detail, and a good understanding of construction industry financial practices. Key Responsibilities:Sales & Purchase Ledger Management·        Maintain accurate records of customer invoices and payments.·        Create sales invoices·        Process supplier invoices and ensure timely payments.·        Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies.CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) Administration·        Apply CIS deductions correctly for subcontractors.·        Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations.·        Submit monthly CIS returns and maintain relevant documentation.Applications for Payment·        Prepare and submit applications for payment based on project manager instructions.·        Ensure all supporting documentation is accurate and complete.·        Track submitted applications and follow up on outstanding payments.General Bookkeeping Duties·        Bank reconciliations and cash flow tracking.·        Assist with VAT returns and other financial reporting.·        Support the wider finance team with ad hoc tasks as required. Skills & Qualifications:·        Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting, ideally within the construction or engineering sector.·        Strong understanding of sales and purchase ledger processes.·        Familiarity with CIS regulations and procedures.·        Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage).·        Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.·        Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
