Pay Rate: $76.50/hour, depending on experienceContract Length: 6 Months Location: Burnaby, British Columbia ( Lower mainland) Raise is currently hiring a Business Intelligence Developer on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client, is a partnership of 12 municipalities - one Electoral Area and one treaty First Nation. That collaboratively plans for and delivers regional-scale services with its core services being drinking water, wastewater treatment and solid waste management.Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.DescriptionThe Business Intelligence Developer in this role will work with the Water Services Team to develop PowerBI visualizations. This assignment could start as early as January 5th, 2026 depending on resource availability. This work will be performed virtually (3 days) and in person (2 days) or entirely virtual if candidate is located outside of the lower mainland.The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with advanced Power BI features such as DataFlow and DataMart; SSIS, SQL Server, REST APIs, and OLAP cubes experience would be an asset. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently are essentialResponsibilitiesTranslating business requirements into technical specificationsDesigning and developing the Data Analytics (Data ingestion, data warehouse, data lake ODS, pipeline, error handling, Azure cloud data gateway, MS Fabric, Power BI security, Power BI workspace) reusable framework.Designing Data Models based on technical specificationsExploring in-depth PowerBI features for advanced analytics which require more customization like DataFlow & DataMartDesigning and building End to End Data pipeline and ETL packages including:Dashboards and reports with PowerBI DesktopTroubleshoot day to day data issuesThis position requires the ability to:Establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal contacts.Provide advice and assistance on matters related to the work.Communicate effectively orally and in writing.Perform assigned duties with minimal supervision, although direction will be given.Maintain confidentiality.Qualifications3 to 5 years of extensive analytic development experience with PowerBI and preferably Microsoft Power Platform.Experience in PowerBI report development, reports automation with data source refresh configurations3 to 5 years of experience with building data pipelines and ETL processes3 to 5 years of experience with on premise Data Warehouse reusable framework design and implementationGood understanding of cloud design considerations for data storage and processingExtensive development experience with technologies including: SSIS, SQL Server, REST API, OLAP cubes, BI Analytic toolsExperience with data modelingAdvanced Power BI Service configurations such as Power BI DataFlow and DataMartExperience with analyzing data source systems to identify data transformation needsThorough knowledge of software development methods, practices and proceduresAbility to prepare technical design and write technical specificationsEducation and Skills Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field ( Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Engineering)Certifications ( nice to have) Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate, Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer AssociateAdditional InformationPrefered candidates in the lower mainland to work a hybrid schedule of 2 days in the office and 3 days virtually.
