Job Description

Company DescriptionEdgeTunePower Inc. (ETP) provides an advanced embedded hardware-software solution called the Ultra-Fast Grid Distributed Management System (UF-GDMS) to optimize real-time operations, control, and protection of Distributed Energy Resources (DERs). ETP's innovative technology enhances grid resilience, minimizes outages, and supports the electrification of industries like transportation and mining. Additionally, ETP offers Control-Hardware-In-the-Loop (C-HIL) simulation and testing services to help clients reduce costs, risks, and project timelines. The company's clients range from utilities to microgrid developers and OEMs.Role SummaryThe CAD Specialist will serve as the principal authority for the holistic physical system design and enclosure architecture of our high-performance power and control hardware. This role requires translating complex electrical schematics, thermal requirements, and industrial environmental standards (e.g., NEMA, IP ratings) into highly engineered, structurally sound, and manufacturable product assemblies using advanced CAD techniques. You will be instrumental in defining the robust form and functional integration of our cutting-edge technology.Core ResponsibilitiesIntegrated Design & System Architecture: Lead the conceptualization and definition of the complete physical architecture for industrial enclosures and cabinets, optimizing for component accessibility, system maintainability, and thermal management of high-density power electronics.Structural and Component Modeling (CAD): Utilize advanced CAD platforms to generate precise 3D models of complex electro-mechanical assemblies, focusing on structural integrity, material specification, and compliance with seismic/vibration criteria.Engineering Documentation: Prepare comprehensive 2D manufacturing drawings, detailing tolerances (GD&T per ASME Y14.5), surface finishes, and accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) for fabrication and procurement.Standards and Compliance: Ensure all mechanical and structural designs adhere rigorously to applicable industry standards (UL, IEC, NEMA, etc.) relevant to control and power distribution equipment in industrial environments.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the liaison between Electrical/Controls Engineering and Manufacturing/Supply Chain teams, ensuring seamless integration of wiring, instrumentation, and power components within the defined physical envelope.Required QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline (Master's preferred).Minimum 4+ years of professional experience in physical system architecture, mechanical design, or structural integration within the electrical, power generation, or industrial controls sectors.Proven expertise in conceptualizing and defining the physical architecture of complex electro-mechanical systems. This includes translating high-level functional requirements into detailed, optimized, and buildable structural specifications for industrial-grade hardware.Expert-level proficiency in industry-standard CAD software (SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor).
