Are you one of those people who look up to the sky every time a plane passes by?Space holds no more secrets for you than it does for science?Environmental and technological challenges are among those you wish to tackle?Come join Sabca and play your own role in the fast-moving world of aerospace inside a company with more than 100 years of existence.We are experts in designing, manufacturing, maintaining, and upgrading large and complex elements for aircraft and space launchers.In Brussels, we have our Structural and Mechatronics Engineering offices, where all our new programs begin and our workshops are equipped with modernmachines that produce complex metallic assemblies for aircraft and space launchers as well as advanced Thrust Vectoring Systems for space launchers.SABCA Brussels is also the home to our "Unmanned Autonomous Systems" aka: the drones solutions unit!Mission :As a laboratory technician, you are responsible for carrying out physical tests (paint adherence, hardness, salt spray and mechanical testing) and non-destructive tests (eddy current, penetrant and magnetic particle testing) to ensure product quality in compliance with EN9100 and ISO 14001 standards. You will also support the activities of the chemistry laboratory as a back-up.Responsabilities : Perform physical testing (e.g. paint adhesion, salt spray, and other physical tests according to established protocols) Perform chemical analyses to support chemistry laboratory activities Conduct non-destructive testing (e.g. penetrant and magnetic particle testing to verify component integrity) Maintain laboratory equipment (microscopes, testing devices, etc.) to ensure its proper functioning Analysing technical specifications and standards Representing SABCA as a laboratory technician specialist during audits. You are responsible for : Ensuring compliance with EN9100 quality standards and ISO 14001 environmental standards Carrying out thorough self-checks to ensure the quality and conformity of the work Transferring your skills and knowledge to new team members to foster a culture of continuous learning and mutual support. Profile : Education / Experience : Higher education degree (Bachelor in a technical field) or equivalent through experience 2 years of prior experience in a chemistry environment (preferably in the aerospace industry or a related field) is a plus. Skills : Ability to follow strict procedures precisely Analytical mindset and ability to detect errors in data Good communication skills, both written and oral Knowledge of chemical (e.g. solution analysis, titration) and physical (e.g. adhesion, salt spray) testing techniques Familiarity with non-destructive testing (NDT certification is an asset) Knowledge of ISO17025; knowledge of EN9100 is a plus Knowledge of NADCAP requirements is a plus Good command of English (level B1), knowledge of French and/or Dutch Excellent computer skills (namely Excel, SAP, and preferably basic networking knowledge).
