The Department also provides key Hospital personnel with advice on the optimum usage, purchasing and replacement of medical equipment.About The RoleThe Chief Biomedical Engineer is responsible for the management of all Biomedical Engineering services for Alfred Health, including medical device management, budgetary administration and ensuring the technical proficiency of Biomedical Engineering staff.This position manages the provision of service to The Alfred, Caulfield, Sandringham and Melbourne Sexual Health Centre, plus Alfred Health satellite services and any external organisations that have contracted their Biomedical Engineering servicing requirements to Alfred Health. The incumbent is an experienced engineer who demonstrates leadership, mature knowledge and sound judgement in all matters related to biomedical engineering.About YouBachelor of Engineering (Biomedical) or equivalent approved qualification or experience, eligible for membership of Engineers Australia. Minimum of six years direct experience in biomedical engineering and a demonstrated ability to effectively supervise staff.Proven ability to communicate effectively with technical, administrative, medical, nursing and paramedical staff.
