Job Title: China Business AssociateReporting Line: Head of Sales, Nigeria, and Executive Vice President, Rendeavour GroupLocation and Travel: Alaro City, NigeriaBackground Alaro City is a joint venture between Rendeavour, the largest new city and industrial park builder in Africa, and the Lagos State Government. It is one of the fastest growing real estate and urban development projects in Nigeria. It is conceived on 2,000 hectares of land and has areas for offices, logistics and warehousing, homes, schools, healthcare facilities, hotels, entertainment and 150 hectares of parks and open spaces.Located in the North West Quadrant of the Lekki Free Zone, Alaro City is ideally situated on the Lekki-Epe Expressway for ease of transportation to Lagos or towards the rest of Nigeria.Alaro City is a secure, predictable and proven environment for individuals and businesses, and already home to investments by notable global and local business such as BUA Group, CAT (Mantrac), Ariel Foods, Kenol, SANA Group and international real estate developers and investors.It is in close proximity to the future Lagos international airport and close to the region’s largest deep-sea port and major Nigerian and international companies.The people in our team are multi-skilled and experts in their respective fields. They possess a unique drive, underpinned by the desire to help improve Africa’s urban development. RESPONSIBILITIES The China Business Associate is responsible for attracting Chinese investment to Rendeavour cities, with a focus on Nigeria and Ghana. Responsibilities include: ·   Business development to raise Rendeavour’s profile through meetings and other interaction with relevant Chinese companies.·   Organising and attending roadshows in China to pitch investments in Africa.·   Establishing mutually beneficial relationships (MOUs) with Chinese national and provincial business associations and chambers of commerce.·  Representing Rendeavour at relevant conferences and events to source for leads.·      Formulating and executing China business development strategies to achieve revenue targets.·      Obtaining and building databases of Chinese companies to target and recording interaction with them in the company CRM.·      Signing up and managing sales agents in China and Africa.Translating Chinese language  to English and vice versa. REQUIREMENTS Hard skills and experience:1.    Native Chinese speaker with at least three years’ experience living and working in Africa.2.    Thorough knowledge of Chinese investment and business landscape in Sub-Saharan Africa.3.    Experience in transaction and client relationship management.Soft skills:1.    Mature, pragmatic and flexible approach, strong commercial judgment.2.    Team player but comfortable working autonomously.3.    Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.4.    Good negotiation skills.5.    Unparalleled attention to detail.6.    Rigorous and organised approach.7.    Hands-on, ready to roll up the sleeves.8.    The ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines.9.    Excellent time management and organisation.Personal characteristics:1.    High energy.2.    Result-oriented and tenacious.3.    Strong work ethic.4.    Ability to work effectively under pressure.5.    Desire to live and work in Africa.
