Position Title: Main Substation - Civil EngineerDepartment: Electrical Balance of Plant (EBOP) DepartmentWork Location: Real, Quezon ProvinceWork Schedule: 6x a week onsiteJoin a groundbreaking renewable energy project in Real, Quezon!We’re looking for a Civil Engineer who’s ready to lead on-site execution and ensure projects are delivered with precision and purpose. If you’re hands-on, solutions-driven, and committed to building sustainable progress — this role is for you.Job Description:1. Daily Construction Inspection & Reporting1.1. Conduct daily inspections of construction activities on-site to ensure the contractor's compliance with project schedules, design specifications, plans, and quality standards.1.2. Submit detailed daily reports outlining the progress of work, any delays, issues encountered, and any corrective actions taken.1.3. The candidate should possess relevant experience in substation civil works, with a strong understanding of the specific challenges associated with substation foundation construction and overall civil design. This includes familiarity with the structural requirements of equipment foundations (such as transformers, switchgear, and control buildings), earthing systems, cable trenches, drainage systems, and access roads. The candidate should also be knowledgeable in applicable codes and standards, soil-structure interaction, and be capable of coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the success of substation civil work.2. Review & Implementation of Design and Construction Plans2.1. Study and review the project’s general development schemes, detailed design, construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and budgets.2.2. Ensure the technical requirements of the project are met, including the design, construction, and installation of civil infrastructure and relatedfacilities.2.3. Generate and submit computerized field reports related to project implementation to the Section Head for review.3. Construction Schedule & Progress Tracking3.1. Consolidate and update construction schedules, progress charts, maps, drawings, and budget expenditures, tracking the project’s financial and time metrics.3.2. Prepare estimates for the cost of contracts, manpower requirements, and othertechnical information relevant to the project.3.3. Document any issues encountered on-site and submit progress reports to the immediate supervisor for appraisal.4. Coordination with Contractors4.1. Coordinate with contractors, particularly in areas related to civil works, structural systems, site development, and infrastructure.4.2. Ensure that work processes are carried out according to established plans and that quality standards are maintained.5. Contractual Claims & Issue Resolution5.1. Assist in the analysis and resolution of issues related to contractual claims, variation orders, time extensions, and any other field-related problems, including Right of Way (ROW) issues that affect the project timeline or budget.5.2. Liaise with relevant stakeholders to find solutions to these challenges.6. Contract Administration & Inspection Support6.1. Support the administration and inspection of contracts as directed by the supervisor.6.2. Assist in the preparation and review of contracts and ensure that work performed by contractors aligns with the terms outlined in the contract.7. Material Quantity Computation & Layout Preparation7.1. Compute material quantities for construction work, prepare layout sheets, and track the construction progress done by contractors or by project administration.7.2. Ensure accurate record-keeping of materials used, work completed, and any discrepancies.8. Transmission Service Application (TSA) Facilitation8.1. Facilitate the submission of Transmission Service Applications (TSA) to ensure the necessary permissions and approvals are obtained for civil works.9. Civil Works Monitoring9.1. Monitor all civil works, ensuring that they are executed according to project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.9.2. Ensure compliance with relevant civil codes and industry standards throughout theproject lifecycle.10. Witnessing Civil Works Inspection10.1. Witness all inspections and assessments of civil works, including structures, foundations, and infrastructure, to ensure functionality, safety, and compliance with designspecifications.10.2 Document and report any issues identified during testing and ensure corrective measuresare implemented.Job Qualifications:Education Requirement:Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Licensed, preferably Civil.Technical Knowledge, Special Trainings and Work Experience:Minimum 5 years’ project engineer experience, preferably in the renewable energy or construction industry.At least 3 years of site construction or on-field experience would be highly preferable.Strong knowledge of MS Office and AutoCadStrong background in construction project sites.Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.Strong knowledge to communicate and coordinate with NGCPExcellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to negotiate and connect with different individuals.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Sound problem-solving techniques and skills.Renewable energy project experience is preferred.This position may require occasional travel to the project site to discuss.
