Job DescriptionWe are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Commercial Property Legal Assistant to join our friendly and professional team in the heart of Hull City Centre. This position is ideal for a candidate with a undergraduate/graduate-level understanding of property and/or land law who is eager to develop their skills and gain hands-on experience within a reputable high street firm.You will support a varied caseload involving both commercial and residential property transactions. The role offers the opportunity for substantial training, progression, and direct involvement with clients.This role is well suited to individuals who are teachable, proactive, organised, and able to communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesAssisting solicitors and fee earners with the management of commercial and residential conveyancing files from instruction through to post-completion.Supporting solicitors and fee earners with research and reviewing documentation including title deeds, contracts, leases, and property reports.Preparing and drafting correspondence, legal documents, and search applications.Liaising with clients, estate agents, mortgage brokers, and local authorities.Carrying out due diligence checks, including ID verification and anti-money laundering processes.Maintaining organised and up-to-date file records in line with regulatory and internal compliance requirements.Handling general administrative tasks such as filing, scheduling meetings, and diary management.Person SpecificationEssential:Undergraduate/graduate-level understanding of Property and/or Land Law (e.g., LLB, GDL, LPC, or equivalent study experience).Strong work ethic with a professional attitude and willingness to learn.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload effectively.Competent IT skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office and document management systems.Ability to work collaboratively within a team and build positive rapport with clients.Desirable:Previous experience within a legal support role or conveyancing environment (not essential – full training provided).Interest in developing long-term career progression within property law or conveyancing.What We OfferSupportive and approachable working environment with mentorship from experienced property solicitors and fee earners.Opportunities for professional development and progression within the firm.Central city location.This is an excellent opportunity for a driven individual keen to begin a rewarding career in property law.
