About us:Global Commissioning Limited is a privately owned consultancy, with our Head Office based in the UK.Specialising in the data centre industry, we offer commissioning management and validation services to project developers and operators, ensuring they receive a fully operational and design-compliant building at handover.We are a growing company and currently operate in multiple countries across Europe and we have active offices in Germany, Poland, Finland, France, Italy and the Netherlands.The Role:As the Commissioning Manager, you will be pivotal in overseeing the safe, timely, and efficient design, installation, and commissioning of critical systems and IT infrastructure within data centre environments. This challenging position requires excellent leadership and organisational skills to manage services on and off-site, providing direction to Project Managers, Supervisors, and various sub-contractors as needed.Primary Responsibilities: As the Commissioning Manager, your key responsibilities will include:Design PhaseAuthoring and reviewing the Owner's Project Requirements, Basis of Design, and commissioning documentsDrafting the Commissioning Plan and Programme, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelinesLeading the Commissioning Agent Kick-Off Meeting, facilitating collaboration and understanding among stakeholdersCompiling a comprehensive project directory, ensuring all relevant information is documented and easily accessibleConstruction PhaseLeading Level 2, Level 3, and Level 4 Commissioning Workshops, fostering teamwork and efficient execution of commissioning tasksAttending Factory and Field Witness Tests, overseeing the process, and producing related reports to ensure compliance with project specificationsDeveloping Commissioning Checklists for electrical, mechanical, monitoring, and safety systems, guaranteeing thorough and systematic assessmentsDrafting Level 4 Test Scripts and Site Observation Reports, documenting observations accurately and providing clear action plansConducting weekly commissioning and client meetings, maintaining effective communication channels throughout constructionManaging and updating the Commissioning Tracker, ensuring all commissioning activities are tracked and progress is well-monitoredAcceptance Phase Overseeing Level 4 Commissioning across various systems, coordinating with project teams to resolve any issues promptlyCollating and presenting Level 4 Commissioning data and preparing comprehensive reports for project stakeholdersDrafting Level 5 Test Scripts and leading the Pre-Integrated Systems Testing Meeting, ensuring a smooth transition to the final commissioning phaseCoordinating Level 5 Commissioning and producing the preliminary report, highlighting successes, and identifying areas for improvementHandover PhaseCoordinating system training data collection, ensuring end-users receive the necessary training for efficient system operationReviewing Operations & Maintenance procedures, validating their completeness and accuracyLeading the "Lessons Learnt Workshop," facilitating a constructive discussion to identify valuable insights for future projectsDelivering the Final Commissioning Report, summarising the commissioning process and outcomes to support the successful handover of the projectQualifications And ExperiencePrince 2 or equivalent – DesirableCompletion of trade apprenticeship or qualifications – EssentialCSCS / Safe Pass / ECS / SMSTS holder – EssentialHNC – Electrical, Mechanical or Building Services - EssentialBEng (Hons) in an engineering discipline or equivalent – DesirableWe will fully support those candidates who have the potential to achieve the above through further education, CPD, and mentoring.We are looking for individuals to start in February 2026As an employee of Global Commissioning, you will be eligible for:20 days holiday plus bank holidays, increasing 1 day each year for the first 5 years of serviceFully Funded Training Courses And QualificationsBUPA Employee Assistance ProgrammeWe are committed to equal opportunities and welcome applications from all sections of the community.We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses.
