Our client, One of the Largest Financial Institutions in the world, is looking for a Vice President of Cred Risk to join their team! The team is seeking an experienced professional to assess and oversee the bank’s credit risk practices across complex portfolios. The role involves reviewing the quality of loans and risk assets, evaluating the effectiveness of credit and trading controls, and providing actionable insights to senior management. This position handles higher-risk portfolios and requires expertise in identifying potential issues before they impact the organization.This is a hybrid position. There are flexible work from home options available.Need to sit onsite (4 days a week / 1 day remote) from Los Angeles (preferred location), Tempe, AZ, New York, NY, or Tampa, FL.Key Responsibilities:Review and monitor credit and risk portfolios to detect changes in credit quality or control weaknesses.Develop periodic risk assessments and monitoring plans, prioritizing resources for areas of greatest concern.Examine individual loans and credit relationships for compliance with approval standards, documentation accuracy, and proper risk ratings.Assess the strength and effectiveness of credit risk controls, analyzing financial statements, projections, and industry trends.Lead complex examinations as the primary examiner, coordinating all on-site activities and guiding the team.Ensure the quality of review work performed by team members and maintain rigorous control standards.Prepare clear, concise reports on findings, ratings, and significant issues for senior management.Provide guidance on credit policies, processes, and controls, and support risk management decisions.Mentor and train junior examiners, fostering expertise and adherence to examination standards.Qualifications:15+ years of experience in credit, lending, or examination roles.Deep knowledge of commercial lending, real estate finance, structured finance, project finance, and asset-based lending.Experience across multiple industries, including energy, utilities, and international markets (U.S., Canada, Latin America, Asia).Expertise in credit processes, risk management techniques, and regulatory compliance.Strong analytical skills in financial statements, portfolio trends, and corporate finance.Proven ability to identify risks at both micro and macro levels and recommend mitigation strategies.Exceptional leadership, communication, and report-writing skills.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.Compensation & Benefits:Base salary range: $129,000 – $175,000, based on experience and location.Competitive Benefits
