Lead Excellence in Anaesthesia – Deputy Director Opportunity! Metro South is seeking a skilled and motivated Deputy Director of Anaesthetics to provide clinical leadership, deliver exceptional patient care, and support the continued growth of anaesthetic services across Bayside Health Service. This is an opportunity to combine clinical practice, education, and management in a collaborative and supportive environment. Temporary or Permanent part-time!About Your RoleAs Deputy Director, you'll play a key role in leading anaesthetic services, supporting the Director Anaesthetics, and ensuring safe, high-quality patient care.Key Responsibilities IncludeProvide clinical anaesthetic care and manage multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes.Support the Director Anaesthetics in the daily operations, governance, and development of the department.Oversee Pre-admission Clinic and Post-Operative Pain Management services.Contribute to departmental planning, budgeting, and performance improvement.Lead and mentor registrars, junior doctors, and other healthcare team members.Develop and deliver educational programs in line with ANZCA training standards.Participate in research, clinical audits, and quality and safety initiatives.About YouYou are an experienced anaesthetist with strong leadership skills, a commitment to patient-centred care, and a passion for clinical excellence.You Will HaveFellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) or equivalent.Registration as a specialist in Anaesthesia with AHPRA.Demonstrated experience providing anaesthetic services in a tertiary or major hospital setting.Proven ability to lead teams, manage resources, and support quality improvement.Strong teaching, supervision, and communication skills.Commitment to undertake shifts in an extended span of ordinary hours to meet clinical need.What We Can Offer YouWe are renowned for teaching and research excellence with strong relations with Queensland's leading tertiary institutions.We want to empower you to build a long-term career, with countless opportunities to learn and grow, no matter your roleYou'll have all the benefits of working for Queensland's world-class public health system including generous leave entitlements, attractive salary and remuneration packages, salary packaging and access to relevant professional development allowances and/or leave, study and research assistance, corporate discounts and employee wellness programs.Redland HospitalRedland Hospital is the major health centre for adults and children in the Redlands and Brisbane's southern bayside suburbs.
