Within Queensland Fire and Rescue (QFR), our regional operations teams play a critical role in delivering these services - coordinating frontline capability, supporting incident response, and ensuring local needs are met through place-based service delivery.We're seeking a proactive and organised Support Officer (AO3) to join the Fire and Rescue Operations Support team in Innisfail for a Temporary Full-Time role (6 months).QFD are proud to be recognised as an employer of choice for women by Work180 and celebrate all diversity by committing to a culture where people feel safe, respected, valued and engaged.The QFD is an organisation that is committed to reframing the department's relationship with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities, and organisations through activities identified in the QFD Reframing the Relationship Plan, contributing to Closing the Gap outcomes and building our cultural capability.Your opportunityIn this key administrative role, you'll help keep our operations running smoothly - supporting the systems, people, and logistics that allow our crews to focus on what they do best: protecting the community.You Will Deliver day-to-day administrative services including correspondence, recordkeeping, diary coordination, and reporting. Support finance and human resource functions, ensuring compliance with QFD policies and procedures. Assist with database maintenance, records management, and the coordination of training, events, and official functions. Contribute to emergency operations and may support activation of the Regional Operations Centre when required. Build strong working relationships with operational staff, volunteers, and external stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery.What you'll bring Proven experience providing administrative or operational support in a busy, multi-stakeholder environment. Strong organisation and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage competing tasks under pressure. Confidence using Microsoft Office and administrative systems, including HR, finance and record management platforms. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to liaise effectively across teams. A proactive, team-focused approach, with initiative and attention to detail. C Class driver's licence and knowledge of government purchasing or finance systems (highly regarded).Special requirements The incumbent will be required to support the activation of the Regional Operation Centre (ROC) or State Operations Centre (SOC) when required; this may include being deployed to assist with functions of part of a Response Team as directed by the Assistant Commissioner and may require work outside of normal hours (e.g. night shift), including weekends and/or working extended hours.What's on offer Meaningful work: Support Queensland's emergency services and make a real difference to community safety.
