All you have to do, is Bring it.ABOUT THE ROLEAn exciting opportunity comes up within our KFC Asia Team for a Market Development Director. You will be responsible for driving profitable store unit growth across a portfolio of Franchise Markets in the region. The Market Development Manager enables markets to realize their full potential through: Establish strong partnership and build 3Cs (Capability, Capital, Culture) partners in the region Securing contracted growth by structuring mutually beneficial deals with franchise partnersEnhancing asset ROIs by establishing geographic, asset, and site selection strategiesConceptualizing new asset models that cater to emerging market trends and consumer needsImproving cash flows via capex reduction and P&L optimization initiativesIn addition, the Development Director will interact with key senior franchise partners to drive high level strategic and tactical alignment. You will build franchisee capability across market planning, site selection, and other Development tools and processes.The Development Director will be responsible for 5-8 markets with an initial focus onIndonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Cambodia and Brunei. The market assignment may change from time to time.You will be based in Singapore and will require approximately 30% travel.MAKE A DIFFERENCE… with your role’s responsibilitiesMajor job functions include:Deal Structuring and Delivering Growth KPIsDeliver key Development KPIs in 4-5 markets: New Store Openings, Relocations and RemodelsSecure contracted growth by structuring mutually beneficial Development Agreements with franchise partnersCoach market planning lead to drive and quantify market growth potentialDetermine optimal pace of growth by assessing franchise business models, network health and competitive landscapeGrowth Strategy and Market AnalysisLead to enhance asset ROIs by determining optimal geographic, asset, and site selection strategiesLead franchisee growth potential by improving cash flows through capex reduction and P&L optimization initiativesPipeline Management and Process DisciplineBuild and cultivate relationships with franchisee Development organizations (CDO, real estate & market planning teams) and act as liaison between franchisees and KFC AsiaEnsure all asset actions (new site/ relocation/ closure approvals) conform to KFC Asia guidelinesReview asset pipelines to drive New Store Openings and Remodel targetsManage franchisee execution in line with KFC Asia’s Development processes and standards on market planning, site selection, ReDevelopment, etc.Franchise Capability BuildingWork closely with the Chief Development Officer (CDO) to assess franchisees’ Development capabilityBuild franchisee capability through formal conferences/ workshops /colleges and periodic market visitsIdentify and deploy regional and global best practicesBRING YOUR BEST SELF… with your top-notch qualificationsDegree in Business, Finance, Real Estate or Development. MBA preferred.At least 10 years of experience in strategy, commercial, business analysis, planning or financeInternational business experience is requiredExperience in QSR, FMCG, retail, commercial, real estate or site assessment would be highly preferredExperience in reviewing and analyzing retail Profit & Loss (P&L) statementsProven track record of successful multi-stakeholder managementStrong project management, negotiation, presentation and analytical skills including proficiency in predictive financial modellingStrong commercial acumen with awareness of the broader business contextExperience working in a franchisor's business would be idealExperience in M&A or consultant would be an extra considerationExperience in working in developed and developing countries with high cultural sensitivity would be highly valued Clear and concise written and verbal communicationAdvanced PowerPoint and Excel capabilitiesExecutive presence and maturityWillingness to travelHAVE FUN… growing and thriving with usReporting to the Chief Development Officer, KFC South Asia, you will work closely with a great support network:3 Direct reports (Development Manager, Development Analyst, Design & Construction Manager)Cross-functional partners such as Finance, Marketing, Digital, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance Franchise partners (Franchisee General Managers, Chief Development Officers and Development teams)KFC Asia is an equal opportunity employer with an inclusive culture that let’s your Originality shine and provides a flexible working environment, great benefits and colleagues to support you along the way.Ready to join?
