Job Description

The Digital Account Manager is responsible for driving revenue from a broad range of customers and distributors across Japan who are not directly managed by Field Account Managers. These customers either currently purchase or are expected to purchase Sartorius Stedim products. This role actively promotes the full BioProcess portfolio and is tasked with building and maintaining ongoing or new customer relationships to strengthen Sartorius's position within target organizations.Main Responsibilities & TasksResponsible for selling the full BioProcess portfolio primarily through remote engagement with assigned accountsAchieve growth targets and performance objectives within assigned accountsIdentify and develop prospects within assigned accounts, mainly through remote research and outreachLeverage Sartorius solutions to address critical customer challenges from early development to commercial manufacturingSupport existing business within assigned accounts and uncover additional opportunities across upstream and downstream processesIdentify customer needs and pain points, and propose products as tailored solutionsCollaborate closely with Product Management, Technical Teams, Marketing Partners, and internal stakeholders to support value-based offerings throughout the sales processConduct negotiations, provide quotations, and close deals with customersCoordinate with Field Account Managers to support customer engagement based on project scope and situationContinuously monitor market trends, including competitive landscape and best practices, and share insights with relevant internal teams to enable proactive responsesQualifications & SkillsMinimum RequirementsBachelor’s degree (any major; Life Sciences-related fields preferred)At least 1 year of experience in sales or account management (industry not specified)Excellent communication skills in JapanesePassion and energy for building strong relationships with Japanese customers and distributorsStrong team playerPositive attitude, willingness to take on challenges, and adaptability to changeCommitment to continuous learning and responsibility for new productsInterest in working in a global organization and proactive communication with overseas colleagues (e.g., TOEIC score of 500 or higher)Native-level Japanese proficiency (reading, writing, speaking, and telephone communication)Proficiency in PC applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, O365 etc.)Willingness to commute to the office up to 80% of the timeIdeal QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, or a related field3+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry (any role)Intermediate-level English proficiency (reading, writing, speaking)Strong communication skills via phone, video conferencing, and email with customer organizations, distributors, and internal stakeholdersExcellent negotiation skillsFinancial literacyAbility to analyze sales data, identify trends, and develop sales strategiesSkills in utilizing generative AI toolsExperience with Salesforce CRM is a plusAbout SartoriusSartorius is part of the solution in the fight against cancer, dementia, and many other diseases.
