Job SummaryThe construction director is a key leadership role responsible for developing and executing project strategies in close collaboration with senior management. This position is central to managing project implementation, ensuring the achievement of project goals, and maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. · Number of Positions: 1· Location: Addis Ababa Key Duties and Responsibilities. Develop comprehensive plans, schedules, and budgets for all construction activities.· Direct and control project operations to ensure alignment with strategic and financial objectives.· Liaise with architects, engineers, and consultants during the planning and design phases to ensure all construction plans adhere to code requirements and client specifications.· Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), objectives, and responsibilities for the construction team.· Conduct regular reviews of project timelines, budgets, labour, and risks to ensure projects remain on track.· Verify the accuracy and consistency of all engineering drawings and specifications, monitoring progress for compliance.· Prepare and present regular progress reports, including forecasts for labour, materials, and equipment requirements.· Chair regular meetings with clients, subcontractors, and consultants to monitor and coordinate all project phases.· Oversee subcontractors' work schedules, safety performance, and quality of work.· Ensure all contractual obligations are fulfilled and client specifications are met as agreed deliverables.· Monitor performance against established contractual criteria.· Ensure the construction site complies with all current health and safety regulations and company policies.· Foster a strong safety culture by ensuring all personnel are adequately trained and briefed on method statements and risk assessments.· Support the office engineering team with contract administration, cost control, and Bill of Quantities (BOQ) analysis. Qualifications and Work ExperienceBachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management with a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience, including at least 10 years in a management or director-level position.Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management with a minimum of 13 years of relevant experience, including at least 8 years in a management or director-level position. Required Competencies ·      Proven experience in project management·      Extensive technical knowledge of building construction principles and practices.·      Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.·      Outstanding organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.·      Proven excellence in time management and the ability to meet critical deadlines.·      Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced and sometimes high-pressure environment.·      Extensive leadership and team management capabilities.·      proficiency in essential engineering software.
