In recent years, the country has seen a constant strengthening of its bilateral cooperation with France and benefits from the largest European programme in sub-Saharan Africa.This has resulted in an increase of more than 140% in the Agency's portfolio in 2024, which now stands at €32 million and is expected to exceed €45 million by the end of the year. The country is also home to two strategic regional projects in education and heritage, and a team of 3 ITE, which is being reinforced by 6 additional ITE.The Expertise France country team should increase to nearly 50 people.To support this development, the Agency has decided to structure a country directorate and a project support unit in Addis Ababa, as of September 2025.Location and positionBased in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, the position of Driver is under the direct hierarchical responsibility of the Logistics Officer – Facilities.The managerial report is: Logistics Officer / Logistics Manager / Support Services Coordinator / Country Director / Geographic Department / Operations Department.The functional link of the Logistics division is provided by the General Resources and Information Systems Departments based at the headquarters in Paris and the Regional Security Coordinator based in Nairobi.The PSU is made up of four main units necessary for the implementation of projects: Purchasing and Contracts, Logistics, Administrative and Financial and Human Resources.The Logistics division, supervised by the Logistics Manager, is also made of two Logistics Officers (Facilities and Programs) and three drivers.2/ Job DescriptionMain missionsThe Driver will be responsible for transporting personnel, running administrative errands and keeping the assigned vehicle in good working order.He/she will also be responsible for the presence and operation of the equipment required for the transport of people and goods and, more broadly, for the safety on board passengers.Main activitiesSecurityComply with national legislation and apply the internal rules of transport (speed, overtaking, traffic lights, etc.)Know the different safety zones identified and the safety protocols applicable to vehicle movementsIf necessary, remind the person in charge of convey the applicable rules for the communication of movementsVehicle conditionWhen picking up the vehicle, or on a daily basis if the vehicle is permanently affected, check the technical condition of the assigned vehicle (condition of the tyres, oil, fuel, brakes, radio equipment, spare parts, etc.), make the necessary refillsEnsure the cleanness of vehicles.Carry out a handover with the next driver if applicable by filling in the handover bookletReport the need for preventive maintenance or repair of the vehicle usedDetect mechanical problems/breakdowns. Keep the Logistics Department and the Supervisor informed of any road anomalies observedAdministrativeEnsure that all vehicle documents and your own administrative documents (driver's license and ID) are valid and present before each movementEnsure that passengers have the necessary documents for the relevant trip/travel in accordance with the applicable EF rules; or report it to the Logistics Officer without delayVerify the presence and condition of the intended identifiersObtain and communicate payment documents related to vehicles (fuel, washing, repairs, spare parts, etc.)Passenger transportWelcome visitors and accompany them in the procedures with the hotel and the airport;Transport staff as part of their work needs as defined by the Logistics Officer (Facilities)Propose a rationalization of movements to the Logistics Officer if identifiedOtherParticipate and ensure the proper loading and unloading of the vehicleWrite reports of accidents caused or suffered by carsFill in the required follow-up documents (passenger movements, fuel, maintenance, etc...)This list of responsibilities is not exhaustive. The Chauffeur.se will also have to support the Logistics team in any task necessary for the proper functioning of the service.3/ ProfileQualifications And ExperienceHold a valid driver's licenseHave a standard foundation in auto mechanicsHave at least one (5) years of experience as a driver. INGO or development organization experience is an assetHave the ability to drive 4x4 vehiclesHaving done the defensive driving training is a plusAbility to work in a demanding environmentStrong capacity for autonomy, independence of mind and impartialitySkills and knowledgeInterpersonal skills. Team spirit and collaboration.
