We are AcceleDev, a unique CDMO service provider and dedicated partner to the pharmaceutical community.We are currently looking for a Cranbury New Jersey site based Director of Research & Development to manage chemistry R&D personnel, site operations and business development support staff. Strategic thinking, innovative problem-solving, and incisive decision-making will help ensure a successful multi-project schedule. Ensure on-target budgets, schedules, and performance requirements are met as they pertain to client deliverables.Set Department Strategy: Help develop and execute the strategic vision for Acceledev, aligning it with organizational objectives. As part of the Acceledev Chemistry Leadership Team, define clear objectives, priorities, and indicators of excellence, ensuring we remain at the forefront.Contribute to Business Growth Strategies: Shape strategies by applying process chemistry knowledge and industry trends. Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify innovative technologies and provide strategic guidance and data-driven recommendations that align with our mission and goals, driving scientific innovation and enhance our competitive position.Strengthening our external relationships and partnerships: Leverage your network and effective communication skills to foster positive external collaborations. Your passion for science, unwavering commitment to our valuable customer partners, and ability to inspire and empower others will set you apart.Position Qualifications:Education:Ph.D. in Chemistry or closely related discipline with 10+ years of industry and leadership experience in an API chemistry process development related areaPreferred Experience and Skills:Significant managerial experience and positive track record of training, developing talent and mentoring team members and leading chemistry R&D projects Proven track record of positively influencing teams, and departments, with the ability to work and influence across functional boundariesFluent in English with exceptional verbal & written communication skillAn outgoing “people person” with high interest and skill in cultivating & maintaining relationshipsCDMO Small molecule project management experience Experience in small molecule synthesis, analysis and methodologyProficiency in complex problem-solving, and bench chemistry techniquesProcess development experience with a focus on scale upExperience in costing assessments, writing R&D proposals, weekly R&D reportsExperience with process transfer and scale-up AcceleDev is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
