About the RoleThe People & Culture team at Equiton is seeking an accomplished Director, P&C to join our expanding property management division- Equiton Living. This strategic leader will report directly to the VP, People & Culture and will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing HR strategy across the Equiton Living portfolio.As the Director, P&C - Equiton Living, you will serve as a trusted advisor to the Income Producing Properties (IPP) leadership team, as well as regional and site-level managers, supporting a dynamic workforce that includes resident managers, property administrators, maintenance technicians, and leasing agents. Your leadership will be key in driving talent strategies, enhancing team performance, and fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and employee engagement.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide strategic advice and proactive support to senior leadership in all areas of Human Resources including talent & performance management, workforce planning, learning & development, and employee relations. Lead initiatives to enhance employee experience, recognition, and career progression.Support change management initiatives related to acquisitions and organizational restructuring.Ensure compliance with provincial employment standards, health and safety regulations, and company policies.Ensure best practices are followed by staying current with employment legislation and HR industry developments, and contribute to continuous improvement by influencing HR strategies, policies, and procedures.Create and maintain HR policies and programs that support a field-based workforce.Manage complex employee relations matters, promoting a positive and respectful workplace culture.Champion an evidence-based approach to employee experience by defining and refining operational metrics that drive transformation and measure impact.Design and deliver training programs tailored to property management operations, including onboarding, customer service, safety, and management development that enhance operational excellence, compliance, and employee engagement.Facilitate in-person and virtual workshops for field teams across Canada.Collaborate with operational leaders to assess training needs and measure program effectiveness.Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.Coach and mentor 1 direct report, fostering high performance and professional development.What You Bring: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (CHRP/CHRL designation preferred).10+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years supporting field-based teams in property management or a related industry.Strong understanding of business operations with the ability to align talent strategies to organizational goals (business partner mindset).Experience working with and coaching senior leadership, demonstrating influential leadership skills and confidence in communicating difficult messages.Highly adaptable and results-driven, thriving in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.Proven experience in designing and facilitating training programs for operational teams.Strong knowledge of Canadian employment legislation and HR best practices.Excellent communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills.Cultural ambassador, promoting and modelling Equiton’s unique values and culture.Ability to travel to support field operations on a regular basis (2-3 days/ week), primarily in Ontario with minimal travel to Alberta.Predictive Index Assessments As part of our hiring process, candidates complete two short assessments from Predictive Index:A Behavioural Assessment (5–10 minutes, untimed) to understand your work and communication style.A Cognitive Assessment (12-minute timed) to measure learning and problem-solving abilities.These are not tests of intelligence or experience, they simply help us understand how you work best.👉 Start the Behavioural Assessment here https://assessment.predictiveindex.com/bo/3S57/SeniorAdminAfter completing the first assessment, you’ll receive an email with instructions for the second assessment.
