DISTRICT COORDINATOR – FINE ARTS2025/202650 FTE 3-year TermApplications are invited for the position of District Coordinator – Fine Arts. This position is a .50 FTE Continuing position effective immediately to June 30, 2028.The District Coordinator – Fine Arts leads current and future district initiatives aimed at promoting all forms of arts education from K to 12. The Coordinator will lead arts initiatives as a part of the district Curriculum and Instruction Team.This is a position of Special Responsibility and will be filled by competition.Responsibilities Of District Coordinators Include Leading district curriculum implementation initiatives; Planning, organizing and implementing district based in-service opportunities; Coordinating the organization and dissemination of information from the Ministry; Pursuing and acquiring grants, alternative funding and additional resources; Consulting with teachers, district staff and administrators; Collaborating with other district coordinators on key district initiatives; Liaising with personnel from other school districts; Providing onsite support and assistance to classroom teachers; Assisting schools in the design and implementation of school-based staff development activities; Participating in district committees; Supporting the implementation of the District Learning Plan; Other related duties as assigned by the Superintendent’s office.Primary Focus: Fine Arts Support and mentorship of classroom teachers with the implementation of all fine arts curriculum; Promote and coordinate district fine arts education programs; Coordinate district fine arts resources; Organize and promote district fine arts events; Coordinate district fine arts in-service and professional learning opportunities; Liaise with and support fine arts local specialist associations and community arts organizations; Fine arts resource and contact person for teachers at the elementary and secondary levels across the district.Qualifications A Master’s Degree in Fine Arts or related discipline; An exemplary teaching record; Extensive training and background in the fine arts; Exemplary leadership, interpersonal, organizational and consultation skills; Training and/or experience in all four fine arts areas preferred: music, dance, visual art and drama; Valid BC Driver’s LicenseDEADLINE: November 21, 2025 @ 12 PMSchool District No. 73 is an equal opportunity employer.
