This is not simply our job, it’s our passion.Job SummaryDoorman is a person who creates a welcoming environment for hotel guests and facilitate their arrival and departure. The Doorman will be responsible for meeting, greeting and directing guests to their destinations. Doorman is responsible for delegating tasks to the Porters as needed such as luggage collections and message deliveries. Doorman will be acting also as valet and be responsible for safely parking the guests and external visitor’s cars and ensure all cars are parked and unparked with extreme care as per the procedures, as well as assisting Bellman with luggage delivery using buggies when required.Essential Key Duties And Responsibilities Always well-groomed and immaculately presented in a clean uniform. Helping to create a friendly and welcoming environment. Managing guest arrivals and departures as per hotel standard. Escort and seating guests. Assist guests and other employees with luggage storage and retrieval. Offering car door assistance and assisting in calling taxis. Greeting guests on arrival and assisting guests with their luggage should a porter not be available. Responsible for keeping lobby area tidy and organized. Assist guests in giving them directions and providing important information about the hotel. Respond to all guests needs quickly, efficiently, and courteously. To be aware of all functions, conferences and special events taking place in the Resort. Assist Security in maintaining suspicious activity. Follow LQA & Forbes standards related to Guest Services department. Attend and participate in team events. Participate in required training. Be fully familiar with the room types and hotel. Proceed with the rooming of guests when necessary. Use buggies for guest’s movements and luggage delivery when required. Ensure buggies are kept in good condition. In case of any technical issues, information is passed to Guest Services Team Leader. Ensure bicycles are kept in good condition. In case of any technical issues, information is passed to Guest Services Team Leader. Effectively communicate and maintain a favorable working relationship with colleges at all levels. Always maintain a professional attitude towards guests and colleges. Ensure all relevant information is always communicated to all team members. Apply and adhere to rules and regulations as per employee handbook, departmental and hotel policies and procedures, including those for emergency situations. Practice proper telephone etiquette with colleagues and hotel guests. Valet parking of guest cars and ensuring the keys are securely stored. Work night shift when required. Provide immediate assistance to guests as requested. To assist with any other duties as required by the management team.Valet Duties And Responsibilities Assist guests with opening/closing vehicle doors. Welcome guests and visitors with appropriate greetings of the day. Able to communicate parking procedures to guests/visitors. Tag guest vehicle keys with date & time, make/model and guest name. Able to effectively park and retrieve guests’ cars without causing damage to the vehicle. Able to provide guests with information regarding property facilities, amenities, services, hours of operation. Able to provide guests with direction and local areas of interest and activities. Ensure vehicles are legally parked in the designated parking areas and to maintain a smooth and efficient flow of traffic. Valet parking of guest cars and ensuring the keys are securely stored. Ensure all guests’ valet experience are memorable, unique and as per the hotel's standards. Document and report all vehicle incidents like damage, accidents, theft, missing articles etc. Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the supervisor or manager. Monitor and maintain safety, security, and cleanliness of parking areas, portico and behind the valet stand. Responsible to report any security or safety problems, safety hazards and potential security problems to the supervisors.Education or Certification Strong interpersonal skills and very good communication skills Good knowledge of English Previous customer related experience an asset Strong human relations skills with both employees and guests Must have a driver’s license.
