He/she would also be involved in setting up and maintaining the drilling equipment, ensuring safe working practices and potentially supervises junior operators. Monitor and keep accurate record of drill accessories consumption to eschew wastage of bits.What You'll Be DoingOperate the drilling machine to create blasting holes in rock, following safety protocols and operational procedures.Conduct regular inspections and maintenance on the drilling equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.Ensure a safe working environment by implementing safety measures, adhering to safety regulations, and reporting any unsafe conditionCollaborate with mining engineers and geologists to assess drilling sites and plan drilling operations in line with production demand.Maintain accurate records of drilling operations, including depth, pressure, production rates.Monitor and keep very accurate record of drilling accessories consumption, ascertain and eschew wastages of drill bits.Maybe responsible for supervising junior operators and support staffs, providing training and guidance on drilling techniques and safety practices.Who You'll Be Working WithHuman dimension: Quarry Engineer.Organisational dimension: The incumbent interacts regularly with all categories of Staff in the Plant and offers professional advice on best practise to operate mobile equipment.He/she also interacts regularly with the plant operators on best operating practises.What We Are Looking ForMinimum OND/ND Certificate Minimum of 3 years post qualification experience in machine main systems.Fully understand the machine operation parameters (feed pressure, percussion pressure, flushing air pressure and temperature)Good knowledge of safety regulations and rules applicable in an industrial areaEffectively coordinate of the activities of Mobile Plant departmentAbility to prioritize with excellent time management skillGood attention to detail and communication skillYour Lafarge ExperienceAt Lafarge, there is endless opportunity for you to play your part.
