Position DescriptionVantage Data Centers is seeking a highly motivated legal professional with deep expertise in energy and utilities procurement and contract negotiation. The successful candidate will support strategic and operational initiatives, including power and utilities procurement, grid connectivity, and fiber infrastructure with the ability to support a wide range of corporate contracts collaborating cross-functionally, including site selection, construction, finance, tax etc. The role requires versatility, a proactive learning attitude, and a strong business-oriented approach, ensuring robust support for Vantage’s sustainable and reliable data center operations.Essential Job FunctionsNegotiate and draft PPAs, grid connection contracts, and infrastructure agreements with utilities and transmission operators, and fibre lease / right of use and dark fibre agreements with telecom providers.Review and negotiate utility supply agreements, service level arrangements, and infrastructure development contracts.Advise on legal and regulatory aspects of power connection agreements, including grid access, transmission, and distribution arrangements.Support internal teams on compliance with energy market regulations and grid codes across APAC jurisdictions.Support the business in their liaison with government agencies and regulators on permitting, licensing, and approvals for power supply.Manage legal risks associated with energy supply disruptions, curtailment, and grid reliability.Collaborate with operations and facilities teams to ensure legal coverage for ongoing maintenance, upgrades, and emergency response planning.Draft, review, and negotiate a diverse array of corporate and commercial contracts (e.g., vendor agreements, master agreements, statements of work, NDAs, variation orders), ensuring alignment with business objectives and risk management policies.Work closely with cross-functional teams—including Development, Operations, Procurement, and Finance—to support contract preparation, execution, and management.Job Requirements:At least 10 years of post-qualification experience at a reputable law firm and/or relevant in-house legal experience. Prior experience negotiating with national electricity utility and grid operators within APAC would be advantageous.Demonstrated expertise in reviewing, drafting, negotiating, and managing contractual documentation.Proven ability to independently handle a wide range of commercial and corporate contracts beyond financing matters.Experience working with contract management systems (e.g., IronClad), and proficiency in Microsoft Office, DocuSign, SharePoint.· Skills & Attributes:Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and foster a fun, learning-oriented work environment.
