Please note selection for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume.Degree or Diploma from a recognized university in Physical Sciences, Engineering, Biological Sciences or another relevant subject/fieldExperience collecting water samples in the field from resource development sitesExperience inputting and analyzing water quality informationExperience writing water quality and/or environmental monitoring reportsExperience assisting with field investigations related to compliance monitoring would be an asset Candidates who have a combination of education, training and experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.Desired Knowledge, Skills And SuitabilityCandidates should have, and may be assessed on their:Ability to analyze information in order to develop and effectively communicate recommendationsAbility to prioritize effectively, set and meet deadlines, and quickly adapt to changeAbility to assess challenges, exercise effective problem solving skills, and initiate solutionsAbility to provide strategic advice on approaches and methods of environmental monitoringAbility to build positive and collaborative working relationships, becoming part of a select teamKnowledge and understanding of the principles of water quality objectives, natural resource management, and sustainable developmentWell-developed interpersonal skillsExcellent writing and organizational skillsDependability and ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a results driven environmentAdditional InformationConditions of Employment:Valid Class 5 driver’s licensePre-employment and periodic medical clearanceJob RequirementsWillingness and ability to work in, and travel to, Yukon communities in all seasons, approximately 10-15 times a year (from 2 to 14 days) by aircraft or vehicleOccasional field work, completed in all seasons and terrain types, often in remote settings, working longer days, and using a variety of vehicle types e.g. trucks, all-terrain vehicles, helicopters, boats etc.Use of personal protective equipmentEligibility List12 months
