Our mission is to empower Nigerian youths and the labour force with trade skills that meet global standards and produces competent professionals.We deliver relevant, high quality, globally recognized training that equips people with the skills and knowledge needed for successful careers in the construction industry.Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Lagos for an ELV (Extra-Low Voltage) Instructor. The ELV Instructor will be responsible for delivering training courses in Extra-Low Voltage systems such as CCTV, access control, fire alarms, and building management systems to industry professionals and students. Key responsibilities include developing lesson plans, conducting practical hands-on sessions, assessing and evaluating participants’ progress, and ensuring training aligns with global standards. The role may also require working collaboratively with other instructors and assisting in curriculum updates.Key Responsibilties:Training Delivery:· Deliver comprehensive training on the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of ELV systems, including IP CCTV, access control, fire safety systems, and industrial wiring.· Conduct both theoretical and practical sessions to ensure mastery of the subject matter.· Ensure learners are equipped with the skills to apply concepts in real-world commercial and industrial settings.· Provide insights into the latest technologies, standards, and regulations relevant to ELV systems.Course & Curriculum Development:· Develop and update training materials, including course outlines, lesson plans, and learning objectives in collaboration with the Training Manager.· Incorporate multimedia resources, hands-on activities, and assessments to enhance learning outcomes.· Ensure all course content adheres to recognized industry standards, such as City & Guilds certifications.Hands-On Training and Equipment Management:· Manage training workshops, ensuring equipment and tools are well-maintained and ready for use.· Provide practical training exercises in system installations, wiring, and testing procedures for ELV systems.· Oversee the safe and efficient use of tools, ensuring adherence to health and safety protocols.Student Evaluation and Feedback:· Assess students' progress through practical tests, written exams, and ongoing performance evaluations.· Provide regular feedback to students, ensuring they understand areas for improvement and how to advance their skills.· Maintain records of student performance and attendance, submitting reports as required.Professional Development:· Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in ELV technologies, safety standards, and industry best practices.· Attend relevant professional development courses, seminars, and workshops to continually improve teaching methodologies and subject knowledge.· Mentor and guide new trainers, sharing expertise and best practices for effective training.Health and Safety Compliance:· Adhere to all relevant health, safety, and regulatory standards, including the safe handling of electrical equipment and systems.· Conduct risk assessments as part of practical training to ensure a safe learning environment.Qualifications:Education:· Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.· Certifications in ELV systems is an advantage.Experience:· A minimum of 4 years’ practical experience working with ELV systems in a commercial or industrial setting.Skills and Competencies:· Proficient in installing, testing, and troubleshooting ELV systems, including CCTV, access control, and fire safety systems.· Ability to explain complex concepts in a clear, engaging, and understandable manner.· Experience in using and instructing on tools, equipment, and testing devices commonly used in ELV systems.· Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively deliver training content and provide feedback.· Ability to assess problems in ELV systems and guide students in troubleshooting and resolving issues.· Capacity to adjust teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and environments.Work Environment:Work Environment & Physical Requirements:· The role involves standing for extended periods and performing hands-on demonstrations with heavy electrical equipment.· Ability to lift and manoeuvre electrical tools and materials is required.· Occasional site visits to industrial and commercial locations for real-world exposure to ELV systems.Industry Exchange:· Field visits to industrial and commercial sites to provide real-world exposure to trainees and for trainers to keep up to date of industrial standards.
