Facilities Technician

BAS Facilities Management is looking to recruit for a Facilities Technician to join our Dynamic Team.Role Summary:The Facilities Technician will be responsible for routine inspections, repairing, maintaining and ensuring the safe and efficeint operation of all assigned Buildings. Must respond quickly to all request and effectively manage any emergency situations.Job Duties: • Perform daily, weekly and monthly inspections of buildings, and structures to determine cleanliness, functional systems and detect malfunctions and needed repairs.• Perform minor building, HVAC, plumbing, electrical and painting repairs.• Operate a variety of small tools and power equipment to conduct routine repairs and installations.• Maintain work areas to be tidy, clean and in safe working condition.• Proactively identify and diagnose problems, carrying out remedial work or repairs and escalating where needed.• Respond to service demands and emergency issues promptly,reporting all major issues to the broader FM team.• Fully utilize all electronic work tools for work requests and weekly timekeeping.• Manage and coordinate with third-party service providers and contractors.• Maintain accurate records of maintenance tasks, inspections, and repairs.• Maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure all projects are successfully completed on a time management schedule.Skills & Competencies• Strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and demonstrate sound critical thinking skills.• Problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and repair various facility related issues.• Ability to problem solve and a thorough knowledge of basic repair and the trouble shooting techniques.• Commitment to adhering to workplace safety standards.• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.• Willingness to obtain knowledge through a combination of on the job training and structured certification courses.• Strong emphasis on understanding client needs with a customer-centric approach.Education/ Certifications & Experience:· Minimum of 5 years of experience in the maintenance and repairs of complex building systems as an apprentice.· Certificate in Maintenance Technician.· Building Environment System Certificate or relevant trade license an asset..
