Introduction:Disaster Relief Australia (DRA) unites the skills and experience of veterans and other volunteers to help communities prepare for and recover from disaster.A growing not-for-profit DRA operates across Australia to provide help and assistance to those impacted by disaster, including floods, fires and cyclones.If you thrive in a dynamic environment, enjoy a challenge and are ready to work for an organisation that is built to serve alongside likeminded people, apply now.Description:What You’ll Be DoingIn this role, you’ll support both future planning and current operations, helping ensure DRA remains ready to respond safely and effectively.You’ll contribute to operational planning, monitor emerging weather and risks, support reconnaissance activities, and help develop plans, briefs and After-Action Review insights. You’ll play a key role in day-to-day coordination during operations — maintaining situation reports, risk assessments, information flow and supporting Incident Management Teams.You may also deploy to the field to provide on-ground coordination when required.You’ll work closely with Logistics and Procurement to support resource movement, asset tracking, procurement tasks and the sustainment of field operations. You’ll also assist with maintaining checklists, SOPs, deployment guides and readiness documentation to ensure strong operational posture and version control.Building relationships is central to this role — you’ll collaborate with regional teams, Associate Directors and external partners to support integrated, effective operational outcomes.Skills and Experiences:About YouYou’re adaptable, collaborative and confident working in fast-paced, high-tempo environments. You bring solid computer skills (Microsoft 365, documentation systems, planning tools) and you’re comfortable managing competing priorities.You communicate clearly, build trust easily and bring strong judgement, initiative and a steady, solutions-focused approach.
