Controller – Benson Seafood (Grand Manan, NB)Full-time | On-site | Leadership RoleBenson Seafood is a multi-operational, growth-focused seafood company located on Grand Manan Island, NB. Our success comes from the seamless coordination of four interconnected business units: Benson Lobster, Benson Seafood Products (BSP), Benmark Trucking, and Benson Aquaculture. Together, these operations form a fully integrated, year-round supply model spanning live product reception, processing, distribution, logistics, and aquaculture farming.We are looking for a hands-on, strategic Controller to lead financial operations across all four units and strengthen the systems that support our continued growth. This is a mission-critical leadership position for a high-integrity professional who thrives in dynamic, multi-unit environments.What You’ll DoFinancial Strategy & Reporting· Lead monthly close, P&L reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and product costing· Provide financial insights that support operational decisions and long-term planning· Manage cash flow, liquidity, and financial stability across all business unitsAccounting Operations· Oversee AP/AR, payroll, tax compliance, and general ledger accuracy· Manage audit and tax engagements with external partners· Strengthen internal controls and ensure timely financial data for decision-makersRegulatory & Compliance· Oversee compliance with licensing, permitting, export requirements, and regulatory filings· Manage insurance, risk mitigation, and renewal processesPurchasing, IT & Administration· Lead procurement and vendor management to optimize cost and quality· Oversee IT systems and collaborate with providers to ensure secure, reliable support· Manage administrative functions essential to daily operationsTechnology & Systems Implementation· Lead the selection and implementation of accounting/ERP systems· Integrate technology to streamline reporting, improve accuracy, and reduce manual processes· Support change management across all four operational units---What You Bring· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/CMA preferred)· 5+ years in a senior accounting or controller role· Experience in manufacturing, seafood, food processing, or similar environments· Strong knowledge of GAAP, cash management, payroll, and financial systems· Proven ability to lead teams, improve processes, and implement new systems· High integrity, dependability, and follow-throughWhy This Role MattersAs Benson Seafood grows, the Controller ensures financial clarity, operational alignment, and strong internal controls.
