Job Title: Garment TechnologistSalary : 250,000 LKR - 300,000 LKR Location: Katunayake, Sri LankaEmployment Type: Full-Time, On-SiteRole OverviewWe are looking for an experienced Garment Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will ensure that all garments meet the required fit, quality, and technical standards throughout the product development process. This role involves close collaboration with design, pattern, product development, and production teams to ensure efficient and high-quality manufacturing outcomes.Key ResponsibilitiesReview design packs and provide technical feedback to identify potential production challenges.Lead fit sessions, analyze fit issues, and guide pattern-making teams to ensure consistent and accurate fits across product ranges.Communicate technical requirements to Product Development (PD) and CAD teams, ensuring compliance with quality and technical standards.Oversee the creation and evaluation of proto, fit, and pre-production samples.Manage pattern development and grading to maintain accurate sizing and quality standards.Conduct fit evaluations and provide actionable feedback for pattern amendments and product improvement.Collaborate with design, industrial engineering (IE), and manufacturing teams to ensure smooth product transitions from concept to production.Apply production-feasible construction methods and optimize costs through effective SMV management.Support product re-engineering initiatives and introduce new construction methods to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.Coordinate with production teams to adopt best practices and automation methods available in the organization.Ensure product testing, embellishment durability checks, and risk assessment reviews (RAR) are conducted as required.Review all development samples before submission to ensure alignment with buyer standards.Work with merchandising and sourcing teams to provide technical input for accurate cost analysis.Support the transfer of developed styles to production, ensuring all technical details are clearly communicated and documented.Qualifications & SkillsDiploma or Degree in Textile, Clothing Technology, or a related field.Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a similar role within the apparel industry.Strong understanding of woven textile materials, garment construction, and production processes.Good knowledge of fabric wash processes and pattern-making techniques.Excellent communication skills in English, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Experience in working with UK/European customers’ technical teams will be an added advantage.Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.What We OfferCompetitive salary and benefits.Positive, team-oriented work environment.Opportunities for professional growth and technical skill development.Exposure to international apparel development and production standards.
