Theta is seeking a  GenAI Specialist - Lead Consultant and we are looking for a visionary technologist to lead the charge.This isn't just another tech job. It's a chance to be a founding member of our GenAI Centre of Excellence (CoE), where you'll architect and deliver transformative AI solutions that redefine how businesses operate. You'll work alongside a squad of brilliant minds, collaborate across practices, and engage directly with customers to bring real-world impact through AI.What You'll DoLead the design, development, and delivery of GenAI solutions across text, image, and audio modalitiesBuild production-ready PoCs and integrate services using modern SDKs/APIsDrive best practices in AI safety, performance tuning, and observabilityTake ownership of secure and responsible AI development - including token/secret hygiene, PII protection, content safety, and prompt injection preventionParticipate in activities and providing pre-sales demos, scope projects, and mentor both clients and consultantsContribute to and lead approved R&D initiatives and help shape Theta's AI strategyWhat You Bring Strong coding skills in Python or JavaScript/TypeScript (C# a bonus).and modern SDKs/APIs Comfortable with tool‑calling/agent frameworks (e.g., Semantic Kernel, LangChain) and evaluation pipelinesProficiency with CI/CD, GitHub, and telemetry-driven optimisationFamiliarity with enterprise Copilot adoption and multimodal AISkilled in fine-tuning API-driven systems to balance performance and cost, using telemetry‑driven insights to guide optimisationAgile mindset with excellent communication and facilitation skillsPassion for continuous improvement and delivering customer valueAbout us | Mō mātouWe have 30 years of experience as a New Zealand-owned technology consultancy.
