Job Description

The General Manager (GM) is responsible for providing strategic leadership, operational direction, and business transformation to position Global Manpower & Training (GMT) as a premier manpower and essential job skills training provider within the oil and gas industry, with the agility to expand into other sectors. The incumbent will oversee all business functions: operations, finance, HR, business development, and training services, ensuring excellence, compliance, innovation, and profitability in alignment with the Group’s strategic objectives.Duties and Responsibilities:1. Provide overall strategic leadership and direction for the agency in alignment with the Group’s mission and objectives.2. Develop and implement business strategies to transform GMT into a leading manpower and training solutions provider in Guyana and the wider region.3. Oversee and strengthen the operational structure, ensuring efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.4. Lead the rebranding and market repositioning of GMT to enhance its image, visibility, and competitive advantage.5. Drive business growth through the expansion of client partnerships, new market entry, and development of customized manpower and training solutions.6. Oversee the design, delivery, and quality assurance of training programs that meet both local and international standards.7. Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, local labour laws, and all contractual and industry requirements.8. Prepare and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and performance reports to the Board of Directors.9. Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, professional development, and high performance across all levels of staff.10. Build and maintain strategic relationships with clients, regulatory agencies, training institutions, and other key stakeholders.11. Implement performance measurement systems, standard operating procedures, and risk management frameworks.12. Promote innovation, continuous improvement, and digital transformation in operational and administrative processes.Qualifications:· A Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA), Strategic Leadership or related field. Alternatively, qualifications of equivalence from a recognized educational institution combined with extensive years of relevant experience would be considered.· Additional certifications in Project Management, HR, or Training & Development are advantageous.Experience:· Minimum of 10 years of progressive management experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.· Proven track record in operations management, business development, or strategic leadership within manpower, oil & gas, or training sectors.· Experience in brand repositioning and organizational transformation is highly desirable.
